Thesis: I still do not buy the Edward/Bella relationship.

In Blood and Chocolate Vivian said those things about herself because she knew she was gorgeous. She grew up thinking she was a Princess because she WAS a Princess. All of the boys in her pack wanted her because she was beautiful and they told her she was too good for the humans. She was pretty full of herself, but in a way that seemed fragile to me, like she was telling herself she was so that she would believe it.

This is what I hate about first person POV. I don't get all the facts. And even if I do get the facts they may be slightly skewed due to bias or ignorance or whatever. So yeah. Maybe Bella is gorgeous and she just doesn't see it. Or maybe she really is plain. I dunno. Edward didn't think she was extraordinary in the first chapter of Midnight Sun. So...hmmm.

I agree. I do not like the inequality of their relationship. I was thinking Hmm...Belle ran away from the castle and the Beast had to save her... but then again that was different because Belle brought something to the relationship. She taught him new things. What is Bella bringing to the relationship besides disaster?
