It was a really good con this year! Aside from having issues and not meeting up with Katie and/or Cliff and Ashley and Daniel last night despite trying the whole con was pretty awesome! And I think I did everything I wanted to do except meet Michael Hogan. Dad had signed us up for a photo op with him today, but he'd already had to leave. So we got one with Aaron Douglas, Kandyse McClure, and Luciana Carro instead which was still really nice.
Now I am of course in the process of waiting to get pictures back. I did Wonder Girl and Little Mermaid shoots that I'm really anxious to see pictures from. I got to work with some great photographers. I was also able to meet up with
eurobeatking for a couple quick shots and
hongkong_phooey went to visit the Tardis with me to get a few pictures there(before we got scared away by all the Thriller people).
I also feel like judging the cosplay contest was a really good experience. I got to see and inspect some really great costumes. Of course we all just loved the amazing Umbreon that won. It was awesome as well as adorable and snuggly! And my fellow judges were also really nice and easy to work with too. I just don't know if I'd jump at the chance to judge it again. It just takes up so much time(and you don't get passes or anything for the work). There were two shoots I could have done during the time I was at the contest.
And I even got the go to the Georgia Aquarium for the first time during the con! Saturday night when I checked in with
katielovespink to see what was going on, assuming it would just be getting ready to go to the BSG party, she invited me to go out to the special Dragon*Con night at the aquarium. So Katie, Cliff, and I ended up going in Disney costumes and had a great time, thanks again guys! I even got to pet a shark(love sharks!)!
One other thing I really liked about the con this year was the Comics and Pop Artist Alley. The first thing I did there was meet
Amanda Conner and buy a signed Power Girl print from her. She was so nice! And Power Girl is one of my favorite series right now. It also makes me wish I was buff enough to feel like I could pull off cosplaying Power Girl(I just started using weight machines at the gym so maybe one day). Then after I changed into Wonder Girl and I went and tracked down
George Perez...
That was obviously pretty exciting for me! The way he draws Donna was a huge influence for my costume. He was so sweet. And I bought a sketch from him, and I have to say I think he put more into mine than he did for most other people. ~_^
Oh, also he was an emcee for the masquerade along with
Peter David. Those guys were a hoot! I watched the masquerade on DCTV with some friends in
lycorne 's room and we decided that they should give them the George and Peter Variety Hour, lol.
Speaking of which,
pdfunplugged , I want links to the BSG videos. That Colonel Tigh was great! "Its coming from the frakking wookie", lol!
Anyways, so I'll make some sort of big picture post after I get pictures. And thanks to my awesome roommates for being some pretty cool cats. ~_^
