What was Lost

The rain fell, soaking the two cloaked figures, “do you see them?”

One nodded, “yeah. They aren’t that far ahead. It’s just been the same routine. Get up, go to the doll warehouse, then it’s the bar down the street before they head back to that hotel.”

“Do you think he’s there?”

“He had to be. I don’t think they would stay to far away from each other.”

“I guess, but you never know. We could be following the wrong duo. Maybe we should have just followed him.”

One laughed, “Where’s the fun in that? We’ve followed all of them some time over the course of this month. It’s time we let them know we’re here.”

A giggle and exclaim of exciting sounded followed but quiet clapping, “Oh I can’t wait to meet him.”

“Hey Cougar,” the blonde started, hands stuffed in the pockets of his jeans. The Spaniard at his side nodded. “Do you think we’ll ever get home?” Cougar shrugged, causing Jensen to sigh, “Yeah I miss Steph and Abs too.

The Spaniard froze, sticking his arm out to stop Jensen. The Latino scanned the area for the source. Something wasn’t right.

“Cougs, what’s wrong?”

Both men stared as a small green object rolled by their feet. Jensen’s eyes grew wide as Cougar grabbed him and pushed them as far away from the blast that followed shortly after.

The street erupted in screams as the few people ran from the seen. Jensen scrambled to his feet. “What the fuck was that?!”

Cougar’s eyes narrowed on the roof of a local store. He motioned to Jensen to be quiet and nodded to the building. The tech nodded with a slight smile, “Gotcha buddy. Let’s go.”

The pair hastily entered the building, ignoring the protests of the employees as they moved to a door in the back. They followed the flight of stairs up to the roof, pausing just outside the door. Cougar nodded to Jensen, who nodded back and followed with a few indescribable hand gestures. The Spaniard rolled his eyes at the blonde before opening the door with a bang.

Two thin figures stood a short distance away from them, matching grins on their faces as they turned to face the two former Black Ops.

“Well, it’s about time you to noticed us,” a girls’ voice stated, leaning against the figure beside her.

The other giggled, “Yeah, we’ve only been following you for the last few months or so. No big deal right?” the figure scoffed, “and you call yourselves Black Ops. For shame, being trailed by two girls.”

“Kristi!” the first whispered harshly, elbowing the girl in her stomach, “don’t taunt the two muscle men with guns pointed us.”

Jensen and Cougar glanced at one another before returning their attention to the pair.

Kristi pouted, pulling the hood of her cloak down to reveal a tanned dark haired girl with hair just pass her shoulders, “Whatever, we could totally take them.”

Jensen cleared his throat, “as much fun as this is to watch but what the hell was that?”

Kristi grinned, “That was our way of getting your attention, right Angel?”

Angel nodded, pulling down her own cloak revealing her blonde tipped dark hair. The girls were identical with enough differences to tell them apart. “If it hurt anyone, it was all her idea.”

Kristi huffed, “Bitch.”

“Slut”

“Whore”

“Cunt”

“Ladies!” Jensen yelled to gain their attention, the pair quickly narrowed in on him.

“What?!”

“The purpose we’re here?”

Kristi smiled sheepishly, “Oh right.”

Angel rolled her eyes, “Way to go.”

The trio paused as they heard snickering coming from the otherwise silent Cougar. Jensen’s eyes widened, “Cougs you’re laughing,” the Spaniard glared at the blonde but couldn’t fight another snicker, “it’s the end of the world as we know it.”

“Alright Blondie, fun’s over.” Angel stated seriously, reaching for something within her cloak, “Do you know-”

“The muffin man?!” Kristi muttered seriously, cutting the other girl off, earning stares from all present.

Angel stared at the girl and shook her head, visibly fighting to keep her composure before she sobered, “Not even remotely close to where I was going with that Kristi.” She shook her head and turned her attention back to the two men, “Anyway, do you know this man?” she held out a battered pictured for them to see.

Cougar sobered immediately gun promptly back on target, “Lo siento Senorita pero we don’t know that man.”

“Oh, lying’s bad,” Kristi tutted in a teasing manner, “we know the truth. We know all about you guys. So just take us to him and we’ll all be happy.”

Jensen stared at the girl in question, “You do?”

Angel elbowed Kristi, who grunted in pain and gave a shrug, “Okay maybe not all about you, but we know enough.”

Angel nodded, carefully tucking the picture away before crossing her arms, “We know you were in the same unit as he was. We also know you all didn’t die in that plane crash like the news had originally reported.”

The slightly shorter girl bobbed her head in agreement, “obviously noted with the two of you standing here in front of us now.” She tilted her head to one side, “now can you please take us to him?”

Jensen looked at his partner, the blonde pulling back his gun and tapping it against his shoulder, “I have this little voice in the back of my head telling me that this is a bad idea.”

Angel smirked, “You might want to say that too loudly. The wrong person might hear it and next thing you know, you’ll be in a pretty white straightjacket with your very own padded cell.” Kristi snickered beside her, the two men just catching her muttered ‘Good one’ before the girls high-fived each other.

“You two are kind of annoying do you know that?” Cougar glanced at his partner, a brow raised in question, considering who the blonde was to hear him say those words was hypocritical. Jensen just shrugged in response to the unasked question, “So what’s the deal with you two needing to see Clay so badly? Are you two ex’s that managed to hunt him down?”

The two girls glanced at each before they both hunched over and pretended to gag. Kristi glared at him, her nose scrunched up in disgust, “Get your facts straight Blondie, before you start staying stupid stuff like that. Clay is definitely not our type. We just…” she glanced to the other girl, whose lips were pursed as she stared straight at the two men, “All you need to know is we need to talk to him.”

“I still don’t know about that,” Jensen answer, scratching the back of his head.

The girls rushed forward immediately getting in the blonde techs face, matching puppy eyes staring up at him, “Please? We promise we won’t do anything, just talk to him.” Angel stated.

Kristi nodded, “Yeah, we promise not blow anything up.” The two girls quickly glanced at each other before turning back to the men, who just caught the ends of a whispered ‘for now’.

Jensen sighed and turned to Cougar, who quickly shook his head no, “What’s the worst that could happen?”

The girls exclaimed, before tackling the two men to the ground and hugging them.

Jensen pushed open the door to their current hotel room, quickly glancing back at the two girls. “Well,” he started, “this is home sweet home.”

Kristi shrugged as she glanced around, “I’ve seen worse.”

“Jensen? That you and Cougs?” a voice called out from one of the room next door. The adjoining door open and a young bald black man walked into the room, “Clay and Roque are coming. Clay has some…” he paused at the sight of the smiling girls, brow rising, “I though Clay had a strict rule against anyone bring their booty calls to the hotel.”

Jensen opened his mouth to reply, but Angel intervened, “Listen Baldy, as much as that is tempting, because seriously they,” she pointed to Jensen and Cougar, Kristi nodding beside her, “are fucking hot, but we’re not really into that. We just need to talk to Clay.” A gun was pointed directly at her forehead before she could blink, “Really? Is today ‘everyone point a gun at the twins day’ or something?”

“You two are twins?” Jensen asked taking a seat on the couch as Cougar sat on the arm.

Kristi huffed, “No shit Sherlock.”

“So, do either of you want to tell me why you brought them here? You know Clay is going to flip his shit.” the black man stated, gun still trained on the girls.

“Pooch, relax, their harmless,” Jensen replied, waving off the man’s concern. Cougar snorted beside him.

Pooch eyed the young women, who smiled innocently in return, “I guess they look harmless enough.”

Kristi nodded, “Yep, we’re totally harmless.”

Angel smiled a twinkle in the eye, “Yeah, so just relax.”

“Who’s harmless? And who the hell are you two?” The girls turned with smiles that quickly faded as they stared down the barrel of yet another gun.

“Really?” Kristi mumbled, “This is starting to get old really quickly. I swear all of you are so damn paranoid. How can you just pull out guns on two innocent girls?”

“When said girls are unwelcome and we value our lives, it’s necessary.” The black man stepped aside to allow the older man through. The girls turned their head to one side as they took him in.

“Damn you look old. What the hell happened to you?” Angel asked.

Kristi sighed, throwing herself onto the couch beside Jensen, “Well this is disappointing. I thought you were going to be more epic looking, especially from all the stories we’ve heard about you. But than we just get,” she motions to him, “this.”

“Jensen, what the hell are they talking about?” Clay demanded, glaring at his tech.

The blonde shrugged, “You’re looking at the wrong person. They wouldn’t say, just that they needed to talk to you.”

Angel rolled her eyes, “Let me get the introductions out of the way. I’m Angelique Cruz; this is my twin sister Kristina.”

“Kristi for short, please and thank you.” Kristi interrupted her sister.

“Yes,” Angel rolled her eyes again, “Kristi for short, I prefer Angel. Remind that okay? We’re twenty-two years old. You can run back checks on us if you want,” she looked to Jensen, “but we’re clean.”

Kristi nodded with a smiled before muttering, “Yeah because I cleared it out.”

“Cruz?” Clay muttered, looking over the two girls, Angel had taken to seating on the arm of the couch beside her sister. The pair looked familiar but he couldn’t quite place it. “Why does that sound familiar?”

Angel smirked and leaned down to whisper, loudly, into her sisters’ ear, “I think he’s trying to figure out why we look familiar.”

Kristi’s smile grew and she edged closer to the end of her seat, “Oh this will be fun.”

“Cruz is a pretty popular Spanish name,” Jensen stated.

Clay glared at the tech, “Your random facts aren’t helping Jensen.”

“Oh!” Roque glared at the girls with a canary eating grin, “Psycho-bitch number 5!”

“Selena?” The girl’s eyes sparkled and Clay shook his head, “Are you two Selena’s daughters?”

Kristi jumped up and danced, “Ding ding ding, we have a winner.”

“Oh, so psycho-bitch sent them?” Roque turned to the older man, “Can I kill them before they get us? If they are anything like Selena than…” the man scowled as Angel interrupted him.

“Actually our mom died. No one sent us here. We came on our own.”

“Why are you here?” Clay asked, rubbing his temple. This little game is getting old quickly.

Kristi smiled, “We wanted to meet our father.”

“Father? Who the hell is your father?” Pooch asked, before everything clicked. All eyes turned to Clay.”

The girls waved, speaking together, “Hello Daddy.”
