Who: Wilson and Amber
Where: Town Square
When: Day 51
What: The Reunion

Never before in his life had Wilson been so happy that House wasn't around. Typically, he either just liked him around, or he was just trying to keep him from causing too much mischief. Honestly, it was like having a child sometimes, but mostly, he wouldn't give it up for the world. Right now though, he was happy that House was nowhere to be found. The last thing he wanted was to have to try to explain Amber's presence to the man. Especially when he didn't understand it himself. Besides that, he wasn't really sure how House would react. The man did end up in the psych ward at least partially due to the guilt he felt over his involvement with Amber's death. No, right now it was really just better that House didn't know just who he was going to meet. It sounded bad, but Wilson was actually kind of glad that House couldn't read his journal anymore.

Wilson felt like he was walking through fog as he put up the closed sign and locked up the clinic. He couldn't quite believe it was her. It could easily be another one of West's tricks. He did, after all, give Wilson video footage of Amber's death. He hadn't quite managed to watch all of the video yet, had only made it so far as when House had found out exactly who Wilson had been seeing. Watching the scene of the three of them in the bar, when House had shockingly stated that Wilson was dating him, had caused a strange and almost familiar feeling in Wilson's chest that he couldn't quite place and he hadn't been able to watch more since. Not that he wanted to. He knew what was coming.

But now, she might be back. He still didn't think he could relive watching her die in his arms. That moment in his life had utterly destroyed him. He'd never felt so lost. The second she stopped breathing, when he'd realized she was actually gone, he hadn't just lost the love of his life, he'd lost the only other person that really meant anything to him. After that point, for a long time, whenever he looked at House, all he'd seen was the cause of Amber's death.

Lost in his own thoughts as to what might be going on, and hoping beyond hope that this wasn't just one of West's tricks (because, hey, going back to the real world now would mean she'd be dead again), Wilson headed towards the town square. He was about half way there when something shiny caught his eye. It almost didn't phase him, what with his current train of thought, but something about the sight pulled at his curiosity.

Hesitating for a moment in his stride, he walked over to a tree by the side of the road. Beneath it, almost out of sight, but lying at the base was a gold, ornate mask His hand twitched as he had the sudden urge to pick it up, check it out, maybe even put it on... but that was silly, he needed to get to Amber.

He couldn't quite leave it though. He thought of walking away, just continuing down the road, but he just couldn't make his feet work. Finally, he just shrugged and figured it couldn't hurt anything and stooped to pick it up. The second it was in his hand, he was glad he'd taken it, and couldn't even imaging putting it down again. He smiled to himself, suddenly very pleased to own something so beautiful, and he continued on his way.

A few minutes later he arrived at the town square and came to a dead stop. He could see her stand there, he'd know her form anywhere, looking as beautiful as ever. It took a few tries before he could move again, but he eventually got his feet moving. "Amber?" he said, once he was within hearing distance. His voice came out soft, disbelieving and just this side of broken.

This better not be one of West's tricks.
