Minions

Nov 19, 2006 07:36

Why yes, I just so happen to want minions. *snerk* While driving home from work, I concluded that the next time someone asks me what I want for chrimmas or my bday, I'm gonna tell them I want minions. Just to see how they react. Mwahahaha.

The dreamcatcher is coming along well; I just need to redo 2 of the circles before I can work on the outer portions of it. I'll be sure to post some pics once I take some. I talked with a coworker of mine about it at work today, since he does a lot of commission-work himself, looking for some advice on what to charge for it. I don't want to overcharge, but I also don't want to undercharge. Seems like my initial thought of $100 + materials is reasonable. I can't wait to see the finished product, as I'm rather enjoying this project. Yes, I know it's weird.

The portrait commission is currently on pause while I get a better reference pic, and the client makes a final decision about the size she wants. I'll probably chat it over with her on Monday afternoon, and get a pic to work from. The pics she originally gave me were too small to be able to scan and enlarge to a work-able reference size. But it shouldn't take me too terribly long once I get that together, since I already have the necessary materials.

The same coworker I asked advice from today also said he'd email me some contacts that I could talk to about getting my dreamcatchers and possibly some of my original art out in the market. Hopefully I can start to build a customer base; that would certainly be helpful in regards to both my loans and saving up money for Cons next year. I'm gradually working on networking!

I also chatted with a woman who came into the store about a week ago about a local amateur photography club; unfortunately, it meets on Wednesday evenings, but I think I'll try to work something out. I'd love to get involved in something like that, and any chance to further my love of photography while possibly earning some cash from selling prints would be ab fab!

Working at keeping myself busy so that my SAD doesn't kick my ass this year, not always an easy thing to do. But it seems to be working...the fish oil capsules really do seem to help quite a bit.

Oh, I picked up this nifty 100 marker set a work, since it looked like it had some decent flesh-tones. Shall have to play around with that soon. Maybe try it out on some of the ToraCon designs I have in my head; must work on those this week. Also must work on kicking my muses in to shape, as they've gotten lazy and are starting to get fat from lack of exercise. Naughty buggers. >_>

Woot! I win! Or something...I'm not sure if it's a good thing that I got Ed come to think of it. Although it is rather eerie how much he's like I was at his age...or how I still sometimes act...
