OMG, THIS WEEK HAS BEEN UTTER SHIT

Okay, firstly, as sotty-chan has said, I'm coming home for Christmas, because A) I really want/need to, for my own sanity, B) My host mother thinks I should, and C) If I stay, I have 3 weeks of hanging around my host family's house, doing oosouji, which is basically where they clean everything that they can possibly clean in the house to make ready for the new year. So, I got my mom to agree, and my host mother told me that she found some "really cheap tickets" for a round trip flight online. I think we probably picked a really bad day to do it, because though it was only 105360 yen, when it converted it was around $1120, which was as much as most of the others are anyway. So then, we were booking them, and my host mother insisted that I didn't have to hover over what she was doing, that she'd do it for me, and we could get it out of the way ASAP like I wanted to. So, I went to take a shower. The next day, when I was getting the flight numbers to submit to the CJS office here so that I could get a re-entry permit, I looked at the flight times just by chance, and saw that I have a 9 hour layover in one place, and an 11 hour layover in the other. So, I tried to get on canceling those as soon as I could, only to find out that they're non-refundable. Since my host mother did it through a Japanese travel agency, I have no idea whether this is true or not, but she insists that when she called them, they said that because they already issued the tickets, there's no way of changing them?

Okay, update. While I typed this, I finally got it resolved, for the price of $250+, but IT'S FIXED.

Also, while on fmylife reading about other people's sucky lives to make me feel better about mine, my Blackberry decided to turn off its ability to connect to networks, so I freaked out. I tried turning it off to see if it would fix itself, but it got stuck in the turn off process for a long time. Then it wouldn't turn on again, so I silently freaked out the whole way here to the copain to look up help online. People suggested taking the battery out, then putting it back in, so I tried it. And it gave me this white loading screen for a minute or two, but then everything went back to normal, and I figured out how to turn on the ability to connect to networks in case it ever does that again. PHEW.

And now, I forgot my umbrella, and it's been on and off pouring for the better part of the half an hour since I arrived and typed this up (with distractions, of course). AFJDSO+IFSADFAIO...

f*** my life
