Now that it's over.

In the last week I got to experience the male equivalent of giving birth. From Friday night to Monday morning, I was in the thralls of agony as I passed a kidney stone that got lodged in the ureter. I figured that I went through some sixty hours of trying to handle the pain. Most of the time I was flat on my back, panting as the pain killers wore off or as I waited for the nurse to deliver the next shot or waiting for it to take effect. I missed five days of work before returning today in an extremely tired and weak condition. But I'm getting better and am pain free. If asked I would have gladly worked twelve hour days each of those five days rather than deal with the pain. My sympathies go out to all mothers who have endured labor. As of now I only look forward to the time off coming up for AdAstra where I should be able to enjoy myself. Nothing in the last two and a half months has really been totally enjoyed because of these kidney stones. Take simple precautions like drinking lots of water and watching your diet. Kidney stones are no fun.

Thanks and have a good spring.
