Okay. So we're getting blessed with an almost new kitchen. New cabinets. New paint. No more wallpaper. That's fantastic. It's all stuff I WANTED to do. But today the tile specialist came up with the report and he states that the breaking, cracking tiles are NOT related in ANY way to the water damage. In fact, he told our insurance company that ALL OF THAT WATER SEEPING UNDER THE TILES SHOULD HELP IT. Not make it worse. He told ME that they were related. He told ME that he wasn't going to let the Insurance company railroad me. And then THEY read me his report. Which states clearly that the water was NOT to blame. It comes right out and says that. He says that the foundation shifted, causing a crack...but HE told ME that the foundation shifted cause of the water damage. Water leaking from INSIDE the house...seeping UNDER the tile (hollow tiles...) and soaking the foundation internally in the very dry season we've been having. Then he tells THEM that they aren't related.
So WHY...two weeks AFTER our kitchen is soaked, are the tiles popping up and cracking? And they weren't before that.
Now we have an option. We can get another opinion. But we have to pay the person to come out and do it. And then it's still iffy.
*sigh*
God, I'm thankful for the kitchen. Really. It's all stuff that we were going to do anyway and now we don't have to. Someone else will. But the tiles...the floor...it seems to be a NEED rather than a want. And it doesn't seem right that they aren't going to cover it.
So God...help me to handle this nicely. And not to break down and cry. Cause that's what I really really really wanna do.
