Nah, pain isn't normally something I want to play "mine's bigger" with, anyway. Frankly, though? I've had a couple of situations involving ongoing pains with no clear progress benchmarks towards endings. Random gout-like flares, unending headaches, that sort. After surgery, you have a clear set of goals and a general idea of time to completion of recovery and, of course, you know what caused it. I'd rather have surgery than what you and many of my friends with fibro or CFS endure. I doff my cap to thee.
Things I'm done with right now? TODAY. TODAY IS FIRED.
