Ah yes, translating the Metro (DC subway) station names into German, one gets such oddities as:
Weisser Feuerstein (White Flint)
Ufergegend-seu (not a friggin clue...Waterfront?)
Prinz Georges Piazza (Prince George's Plaza)
Nebelige Unterseite-GWU (literally nebulous bottom, i.e. Foggy Bottom)
Kristallstadt (Crystal City)
Freundschaft-Hoehen (Friendship Heights)
It's not that the translations are bad, just that these names sound so ridiculous in German, and after a year of making fun of German place names translated into English, it's only fair that my country takes a beating.
