A lot has happened to me since I last updated my journal. Rishi left, taking a piece of me with him (nah, that sort of melodrama doesn't work for me). Honestly though, it amazes me how we can be so close despite having so little in common and living in separate countries. I mean, it's not like you should be able to point to a factoid or two and say "this is why person X and I are friends", but I feel like something other than many drunken nights together should be the bond that holds two people together, and with Rishi and I I just can't identify what that bond could be.
I've gained five pounds in the past month. Too many meals out, not paying attention to what I'm eating, alcohol, and the Cheesecake Factory are to blame. I'm not really worried, as I'm sure I'll lose the lbs again once I start eating normally and studying my ass off for finals.
Saw The Incredibles today, making me wish yet again that I had super-powers other than venomous sarcasm and dancing poorly enough to scare everyone away. Adrienne and I had a good time yet again, and then tomorrow I'm meeting her friend Nick from Stanford, who randomly decided to come home for Thanksgiving only a few days before Turkey Day itself. Oh yeah, my parents and I watched lots of basketball last night in a food coma...from Indian food. Thank you Minerva for succeeding where Charlottesville's Indian restaurants have failed.
Oddly enough, I'm not extremely nervous about my exams. I mean I know I have a ton of work to do, but I'm in a better place emotionally than earlier this semester, and I realize that even if my grades this semester aren't perfect, I'll still be ok in life. Or at least my summer internship will turn out well, as I'll have applied before my grades are in. The Maryland chapter of the ACLU said they have legal internships (as in for law students, not permitted by the law) and that the person in charge will get in touch with me this week. So I may be in Baltimore next summer, everyone...anybody want to go for a swim in the Inner Harbor?
