I disagree with you in principle, though. You can write your own ending. You can punch your own ticket. Sometimes it makes sense. But I would've done what you did.
Hey, she might be getting out of the hospital this afternoon -- if that happens, I'll take her to her apt. so she can get better clothes, then take her over to our house so she'll be around people (well, Gary, anyway ;-)
I actually once found myself in that situation. A friend had tried to OD. I talked her into calling the ambulance, getting her stomach pumped, and checking in for real pyschiatric treatment. I in no way regret this choice, nor does recently happily married her.
You can punch your own ticket. Happens everyday and I still think people are entitiled to do so, but I will never be conviced that a person who is still actively talking about their life truley wants to give it up, they want help and don't know from what source to get it. People who are convinced they want to be dead end up that way. Good on you for helping her. And give yourself and her a big hug from me.

Happens everyday and I still think people are entitiled to do so, but I will never be conviced that a person who is still actively talking about their life truley wants to give it up, they want help and don't know from what source to get it.
