xxxholic fic: tsarina (clow/yuuko)
For the sake of sanity, let's just call this one a drabble too, since apparently I can't seem to write anything over 500 words anyway. :|

TSARINA.

He had been busy studying the various alchemical distillation processes found in eggs when she first walked into his study, though certainly he had seen her, met with her before. "Why look at eggs?" said she, peering by his side and murmuring close into his ear. Her silken hair moved along with her, over the half-bared shoulder uncovered beneath her garment (he thought often--and cynically--that she dressed like a lazy lover, one who awoke from slumber only to miss buttons when redressing and examine crossly the function of underclothes). But he nonetheless cracked one egg with a swift movement of his hands and drained its yolky contents into a cheap Grecian bowl.
"Because."
It seemed reason enough to suffice.
Once before in her life Yuuko had seen him this same way: cleaving a peach into two halves, his gloveless fingers glowing furiously white around the edges of each nail, head bent so that she could reach up and place the palm of her hand behind his neck and trace every vertebra down if she so desired. Back then, she had been astounded by the remarkable translucency of his skin. Back then, she had bit into the peach while it still lay in his hand, barely even proffered to her.
"Here." He held open his palm and the two eggshell halves sat side by side, cleaned out. "Would you like to hold one?"
"No."
"Would you like to wear one?"
She tossed her hair. "Don't insult me," she advised him bitterly.
He looked surprised. "Of course not," he said. "I only meant to queen you."
"...How so?"
He gently crowned her head with the eggshell.
"Why, what a beautiful blue-blooded creature you are," he breathed in wonderment. "I shall call you Tsarina, henceforth."
And he bowed down to her.

Huh. I wonder what Clow thinks of alchemy.
Q: Why is Clow so crack?
A: Ah, that's because he's actually in character! Ahahaha. Fancy that. ^^;
Anyway. >_> I might not be completely unhinged with regards to concept and etymology of said fic because according to this, the term tsar (and hopefully its companion tsarina) was first put into use in 913. Though that still might not vindicate the crack nature of said fic? I thought so. ;_; It's just weird.
P.S., Beware of alphabetical alliteration. Or something. XD
