I've been kind of uninteresting lately, I have to admit. It's not really my fault, I've had more of a social life than usual, and as a result, my introspective life is reduced to memes, and the keeping track of life sort of nonsense that no one really likes to read, but I enjoy recording anyways. I like to write long sentences.
Ballet has been satisfying (though still boring) lately. Legs are getting higher, arms are not so crazy looking, and I'm managing to work on my technique while still being expressive. Overall, I feel much stronger. Go me.
I have no idea what is up with modern. Jurg seems to be pleased with me in general, since he has been offering both corrections and compliments, but the class just confuses me in general. Also, it makes me hurt.
While I'm talking about hurting, I hurt my silly hand at work again. I was afraid it was some kind of nerve damage, like carpal tunnel syndrome. However, I did some research, and it seems more likely it's some sort of tendonitis. Luckily, it seems like it is mostly bar that hurts my hand, and I will no longer be on bar as much now that I am a shift.
It's really annoying to have your hand hurt so badly you can't turn the key in your apartment door, and have to use your left hand instead. Same for any other task performed with the dominant hand.
And now, much ado about school nonsense.
I figured out my summer class schedule. I'm not really thrilled about it, but I also really don't have a choice as far as things go. Monday through Friday, A Term through B Term, I'm going to be taking Statistics bright and early at 8:30AM. Not really what I wanted to spend my summer doing, but ah well. For ATerm, I'm also taking ballet with Hengda, and Comp III. In BTerm, I'm going to take Intro to Women's History. It's not really my first choice for a class, but I'll need to take something other than Statistics during BTerm, or I'll never want to go. Blah. The 2 major months of my summer are going to be completely devoted to school and work, and I think it's totally icky, but I have to gradute someday.
I need to take Statistics for the anth major, and I'm not going to want to take it anymore next quarter than this quarter, so I should just get it over with.
I'm somewhat seriously thinking about taking French in the fall. I've been wanting to take another language, (Or three, or four) for a while now, and it might be fun if I can fit it in. Also: when I was doing my research on the danse macabre, it was often difficult since most of the original literature was in French. If I end up doing medieval studies in grad school, it will be helpful to be able to read some of the language.
I need to get back to studying, though really, I'd like to lay on the floor, and watch Law and Order. But, the studying must happen, preferably sooner than later.
* Edit * It just occurred to me, as I totter off to bed at 4:45AM, that if I were still an opener at the Bux, I'd have been at work for a half hour already. I can't even say how much I don't miss opening.
Kia.
