Jack crosses his arms and wraps his heavy coat tight as the freezing Cardiff air continues to chill his nerves. All around him the locals hurry about their business, burrowed into hats and scarves and not once turning to notice the man standing right in the middle of it all.
He breathes in slowly, trying to calm his racing heart. Then he hears the universe roar.
And he realises the wind is no longer so biting; feels the sun beating down upon his shoulders where before there only clung fog.
There is no question about it. He starts to run.
