A new pope. Francis. I did wonder if there had ever been one of that name before and apparently there has not. People are already calling him Francis I  but from what I read elsewhere you can't actually call someone the "first" if there hasn't been a "second". That makes sense. Work's going ok. Cracked a problem yesterday with some help. It wasn't anything I was doing wrong, it was a problem with a connection from one server to another and it had to be done using a direct IP address instead of a server name. Every summer i seem to get fruit flies in the kitchen. A few bowls of red wine or cider vinegar covered in perforated plastic wrap usually does the trick but this year i seem to have a cloud of them over the sink. Don't know why. Apparently, October is the 50th anniversary of the release of the Audrey Hepburn movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's. BaT is a wonderful movie and Hepburn is absolute gold in it. I finally saw Shameless (the US version). Hmmmm.... I haven't watched the UK pilot in quite awhile but it seems to me some of what was in the first ep in the US version was from several of the first few eps in the UK season 1 rather than matching the first episode. I've recorded the debut of the American version of Shameless and downloaded the first of the new season of UK Shameless. I may have to have a Shameless marathon later tonight.
