I've been staying with mom for a few days while she's getting back on her feet after an operation. She's getting impatient though she is  making progress. It's too slow for her.  I have my new mini laptop with me using the neighbour's unsecured wifi shhhhhhh.....I like it but There's one annoying thing that i'm sure is something i'm doing. When i'm typing, the cursor flips up or down some lines and sometimes i lose text or it gets inserted into other sentences. i'mm pretty sure i'm just hitting either a combination of keys wrong on  this smaller keyboard or i maybe swiping the touchpad which is hard not to do since my usual typing habit is to rest my wrists on the desk. With the laptop my wrists rest on the laptop itself and the touchpad is right there in the middle. Trying to keep my wrists up is tiring! i can turn off the touchpad but it also turns off the mouse as well. oh wait, no it doesn't. I thought it did when i tried it before. i'll have to keep it turned off if i'm doing any amount of typing and see if that helps. I also keep hitting the caps lock key because the left shift key is smaller and the caps lock key is about twice the size which is weird. The right shift key is bigger again. Odd.

The keyboard also has some special characters in blue on the keys but i can't for the life of me access them. Shift doesn't do it, neither does the Fn key. I've looked at the help, tried various combos. My only guess is that if i was using a French keyboard, perhaps the Shift key would give me the blue keys. I think this machine was installed with bilingual but when i set it up of course i used English. It's a pity though because one of the characters is the pound key  which i can't make otherwise because ther'es no separate numeric keypad and alt-156 on the regular number keys doesn't work. No big deal.

I do like it though. I can use mom's computer of course but this is all set up with my stuff and it's faster as well.
