The Fandom Snowflake Challenge - Day 2
Day 2
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Drop a link to your post in the comments. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.

Summary: Two unsuspecting travellers. One knife-wielding bandit. It will be a night to remember.
This fic is made of so much fun. xD Poor bandit, should pick his targets more carefully...
Pictures Painted Red by liriaen
Summary: Pictures painted red, like Master Sori's finest, artistic licence indeed. [50 sentences about Anotsu and Rin: on living, learning, and the end of a hunt.]

The one and only Faded Sun fic I've found... (in addition to the one I wrote.) And it's excellent.

Summary: Some time after the events in Precursor Bren has a peaceful visit to the Terraces of Saisuran. Based upon the Foreigner series by C.J. Cherryh.
There isn't such a big amount of Foreigner ficcage either, but I really liked the air of this one. Feels... authentic.

Summary: AU. Sai just wants to play Go. To do so, he needs Shindou Hikaru - a street-smart kid involved in the local crime syndicate who is more concerned with making ends meet than playing games. For both to survive, they may just have to compromise...
This is a pretty dark one. In this AU, Hikaru's life is far from easy, and you can see it. This is an overused phrase, but I really can't wait to see how this fic'll proceed.

Summary: AU. It was said that those who possessed the Hand of God will possess The Land of The Rising Sun. Shindou Hikaru, the chosen one, and Touya Akira, heir to the current king, found themselves in battle against each other for the Hand of God. Fantasy AU.
Heh, I guess I just like AU's? ^^ This one has a very promising start, strong prose and intriguing beginning.
Before I Leave by Lucathia Rykatu
Summary: Although Hikaru is no longer able see him, Sai continues to watch over Hikaru from the shadows with the help of the YYH cast. Set during volumes 15-17 of HnG.
Yu Yu Hakuso crossover. Which I haven't read at all, but at least so far it didn't bother me. I really hope this'll be continued.
Little Ed's Carnival of Chaos by Akiko Keeper of Sheep
Summary: The clue is in the name. "Even if the rest of the day went to hell, at least he could take comfort in the knowledge that he'd really annoyed Touya Akira." Knowledge of Buffy-verse not required. Poorly-disguised crack!fic. You have been warned.
One more incomplete thing! People, write! Very cracky, and very fun. Kept me grinning, like, all time.

Everything fits together so well in this 'verse, and all the emotions come across strong.
A curious visitor by Ontogenesis
Summary: As Touya Kouyou nears the end of his life, he makes an unusual acquaintance.
I didn't think when I started reading this that I'd care much for a meijin fic but boy was a wrong. This is, hands down, one of my favorite fics ever.
Baku the Dreameater by harunekonya
Summary: Hikaru goes to sleep and does not wake for two weeks. As Akira and the others gather to try and solve the mystery around Hikaru's misterious illness, a strange man, a medicine seller, comes to their aid.
Hikago/Mononoke crossover! What more need I say? <<<<<3

Himitsu Shinu by Hikari the Soulweaver
Summary: Centuries have passed. With the Sword keeping him immortal, he has seen the world change with the passing years. The mononoke grow stronger just as he feels his power wane. It is only a matter of time before he meets his end. T for violence/death.
Once again, an incomplete fic, but even so very much worth mentioning here. I think this is my favorite modern day Mononoke, ever.
The Mountain by Official Rambler
Summary: Children are disappearing from a village, a village situated near a mountain renowned for the monsters that inhabit it. The medicine seller has come to town in search of a Mononoke. He may have found none, or he may have found a mountain's worth.
Yet another one that's unfinished. *sigh* But beautifully written, and I think it's worth reading what there is.
Untitled Mononoke & Princess Tutu crossover by Hikari the Soulweaver
Summary: Word of strange occurrences led him to a small town, but the evil has already been eradicated by a power he has never encountered before...
Well, this one's finished! xD And it's a very well written crossover.
