The Fandom Snowflake Challenge - Day 1

Jan 03, 2012 12:42

Having been away, I'm totally late with this! So, bear with me, you'll get the first three days all today.

Day 1

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Drop a link to your post in the comments.

Self-recs, huh? Oh my. Well, let's see...

Well, obviously, I have to start with my Heian age Hikago fic.

The Untitled Heian Fic (Hikaru no go) Yes, it still has no title, but I think it's my personal favorite of my fics. It's definitely the one for which I've done the most research... though I guess I would have read all that stuff anyway, as I'm interested in the Heian period, so I'm not sure if it really counts as "doing research". ^~
Summary: Back in the Heian days, a young man tries to find out the truth about what happened to his teacher, while a young onmyouji faces the mystery of a haunted goban. (Inspired by the movie Onmyouji and includes a nine-year-old Abe no Seimei.)

...seriously, if someone has title suggestions, I'm listening. >_>

Dream Traveler (Hikaru no go & Sandman crossover) I just had so much fun writing this. And I think it's one of my best crossovers, it actually works.
Summary: Hikaru had a dream, of Sai, and of a fan, and he wasn't yet ready to wake up. This time he would find Sai again, if he'd have to search through the whole Dreaming.

Shon'ai (C.J. Cherryh's Faded Sun) Why are there no Faded Sun fics? Why, oh why...
Summary: Melein, before the series starts, when her life takes an unexpected (and unwanted) turn. No spoilers.

Solaris (Yu-Gi-Oh) I was going to leave this at three recs, but then decided to throw in something older too. Or, heh, I started writing it in 2006 and finally finished it last year after a couple of years' hiatus. It's a crossover, one could say. The title either gives you a hint or then it doesn't. ^~ Science fiction.
Summary: Seto Kaiba is going to check just what is going on at a space station in which Kaiba Corp. has invested much money. What he finds forces him to come in grips with a certain painful event of his past - if it doesn't drive him crazy first, that is.

ETA: Hmm, to post something else than fanfics, too... as there's been some encouragement to post for small fandoms, here's icons I made a little ago. Otogizoushi, Hikaru no go & Blade of the Immortal icons
