Personality
Describe yourself (how you perceive yourself -- can be as short or as long as you want! ;) ): Mm...I don't think I'm terribly amazing. I'm probably one of five out-of-state students at my University, and I'm chasing my dreams of Japanese fluency and novel writing. I'm a creative person, I like to think, and I have a tendency to immerse myself in things like writing and messing around in photoshop (though admittedly I'm terrible at the latter). I consider myself to be empathetic to an extent, in that when I meet someone and learn of their troubles, I am immediately bothered by them as though they were my own. Conversely, I get really happy for others too. I like to think I'm intelligent and that I can write well, but that's up for debate.
You've heard people say you are: That I'm too much of a romantic, and that I'm foolish for thinking most people are inherently good. My friends tend to have nice things to say about me, and I tend to wind up the group therapist, though I don't particularly mind. For some reason, people keep telling me that I'm cute...I don't know what they're tlaking about though, I'm not cute at all. ;;;
Overall, would you say your life is:
Peaceful/Full of conflict? Compared to other people, I think my life is pretty peaceful. That and I'm pretty calm, so I tend to freak out less about things, thus leading to less conflict in general. :)
Filled with other people/Full of Solitude? ...Mm. Full of solitude, really. That's what happens when you're an out-of-state student. I'm a little lonely, but I'm okay. I have friends who mean a lot to me, just not as many as back home.
In general, would you say you are (expound if you can, please)...
Loud/Quiet? Quiet, most of the time. I can get loud around my friends, but around most other people I'm quiet.
Faithful/Skeptical? Faithful, unless I have reason to be skeptical
Realist/idealist? Idealist, with shades of realism mixed in. When thinking about people though, I tend to think with my heart.
Shy/outgoing? A little of both, in different situations.
An extrovert/an introvert? Introvert all the way. I love the friends I have, but I really like my solitude too. Just not too much of it.
An optimist/pessimist? Optimist. My glass is always half-full.

Favorite lyrics:
I have way too many favorite lyrics. So I'm just gonna share a song I've been listening to all day. I love the lyrics so much.
"I came into town with a knapsack on my shoulder
And a pocket full of stories that I just had to tell.
You know I've knocked around a bit,
I've had my share of small town glories,
And it's time to hit the city and that crazy carousel.
I been feeling sorry for myself,
But you know I was only lonely,
Like everybody else.
Until...
You brought your Sunday morning sunshine
Here into my Monday morning rain.
You taught me happiness just one time,
It keeps on coming back again.
These streets were never highways
For I had not known the sky above.
These days were never my days
For I had not known your love.
It's funny how a city can put on a different face,
When it holds the one you care for
It becomes a different place.
And I never felt so far from alone.
Baby you brought me halfway home.
Yes, baby, you brought me halfway home." "Sunday Morning Sunshine" - Harry Chapin.
What sounds (e.g. birds singing) do you find pleasing to the ear? And vice versa? Rain falling is my favorite sound ever. Not thunderstorms, though those are nice too, but soft spring rain. And I like the jingling of a bag of coins. XD
What genre/s or type/s of music do you prefer? Which ones do you dislike? I grew up on oldies and folk music, but I listen to pretty much anything and everything. If I had to pick a least favorite genre I'd say rap and R&B, but even in those categories there are songs I like, so...
If your life had a soundtrack, what songs would be in it? Why? I actually made one for class once. XD; The better tracks were "Doesn't Remind Me" - Audioslave, "Boston" - Augustana, "Perfect Time of Day" - Howie Day, "Chocolate" - Snow Patrol, and "I Hope Tomorrow is Like Today" - Guster. There were at least twelve more songs though.
If you were trapped in a room (feel free to enhance on this scenario) and had to listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be? Tough question...Really tough question. I don't think I could pick. I listen to songs according to my mood, or what I want my mood to become. If that's the case though...I would want it to be a happy song. ♥
