The Basics
Name: Olivia. Depending on the context: Some people see it as really pretty, some see it as really snobby, and some wonder why I've been named after an Olive. Actually, my mom originally preferred the name Natalie and my dad wanted to name me after a Hall & Oates song, so I don't have a clue. >_>
Nickname: Also depending on the context... Liv, Livy, Daisy, Goldie. Those last two are aliases.
Age: 15, turning 16 in March. Now, if I could just get these restaurants to stop giving me kiddy menus...
Gender: Female.
Personality
Likes: I love music. In general, I came from a divided family - the guys liked classic rock, my mother listened to dance music. I seem to enjoy both genres, but never long enough to get any specifics down, like bands, especially for those dance hits. Anyway, I tend to listen to obscure bands - they have a fanbase but they're still virtually unheard of, for reasons I don't quite understand. I guess it's a matter of being in the right place at the right time? Anyway, bands that fall under that are The Candy Butchers, Abandoned Pools, Spacehog. I do like more common stuff, such as No Doubt, Barenaked Ladies, Maroon 5, The Killers, Imogen Heap/Frou Frou, Amy Winehouse, Jason Mraz.. I'll also always have a place in my heart for Hall & Oates. Pure awesome live to this day, and the guys are in their 50's. Ooh, foreign stuff is cool too. Ringo Shiina/Tokyo Jihen, Olivia Lufkin, Yuna Ito.
Anime and manga. I tend to fall for anything written and illustrated by Ai Yazawa - this includes Nana and Gokinjo Monogatari, among others. And of course, I love Tutu, I find it's hard to not hear a mention of it without wanting to go and watch the fansubs all over again - the dub was fine too, Luci and Chris did an awesome job at their respective characters. Er.. some other stuff I like would be Peach Girl and (unlikely, but true) Golden Boy. I just like romantic comedies and comedy in general.
I like reading, particularly anything by Douglas Adams, JK Rowling or Joanne Fluke. Writing is fun as well, I find I have plots that simply develop out of nowhere for me - the trouble is taking them from my head to the paper. It's not that I can't, I'm just too lazy to stick to writing it all down. If I had a machine that could make series simply out of my thought processes, though.. I would be rich. >_>
Dislikes: People who support ridiculously non-canonical pairings, but vehemently deny the fact there's nothing to back them up. Ugh, especially when they have to pair up mortal enemies. I don't mind stuff like Mytho/Fakir, Nana/Nana, Shinji/Kaworu, 'cause at least those can be easily taken as almost canon. Hell, all of those could have been canon if their series just took a few different turns. But some of the stuff I see just comes completely out of left field.
That's another thing, I like yaoi and yuri, but I was raised from a young age to realize that romance is romance, all genders aside (this of course leads to a dislike of homophobia). What kills me are the fans of either spectrum treating their thing like it's some exotic fruit, or praising it like it's the freaking second coming. I understand they aren't all like that, but it's a majority. And it's irritating.
Er... aside from fandom, I hate it when I try to help people that will not accept help. Or ones that tell me they know exactly where I'm coming from when, in reality, they have no idea of my feelings. Assumption is a nasty thing! Ignorance and arrogance drive me up the wall, as well.
Hobbies: I draw. No masterpieces, but it's fun to practice anatomy. I also like singing, though I'm definitely no Carey or Utada.
Talents: I'm told by many that I'm a great actress. I do love acting, but I don't get a big head about it - so of course I deny I'm good at it at all. :3
Ambitions/Goals: I'd like to learn Japanese someday (my great grandfather was half - but that's the extent of it in the family tree that I know of), and move to the country to pursue a career in music.
Strong points: I'm loyal to my friends, and I have the ability to be honest with them when nobody else will - I'm pretty flexible, too. I embrace change. I'll take it out to lunch and pay for the meal. No, I would marry it. Stubborn people who avoid it like the plague disappoint me.
Weak points: Er.. I have a habit of avoiding my problems, I'm a little self-conscious of what others think of me. Basically, I'm a walking contradiction. I also don't speak up as often as I should - though I'm more sociable than I used to be.
Your personality in 3 words: True. Affectionate. Accepting.
Mature/immature: Mature, definitely. I may have some immature thoughts, but I generally keep those to myself.
Outgoing/shy: Somewhere in the middle. I used to be no more open than a turtle, though it's gotten better over time. I speak to people! Though they seem to initiate conversation more than I do.
Graceful/clumsy: People tell me that I'm graceful, but I've had plenty of butter-fingered moments.
Optimistic/pessimistic: I don't get the people that ask whether the glass is half empty or half full. Isn't it both? Anyway, I'm hopeful but I'm realistic.
Leader/follower: I prefer following things, but I'd probably be better as a leader.
Favorite
Color: Gold or goldenrod. It's warm and shiny. <3
Animal: Heheh.. Ducks. No joke.
Food: Potatoes in general. They're not really nutritious, but they do fill you up.
Scents/smells: Lemon lime, roses - the really fragrant kind. Orlando, I think?
Fairy tale: You know, I.. I can't say I have one.
Princess Tutu character, explain: As much as I love the title character - Fakir will always be my favorite. There's just... something about the ballet dancer/knight/author occupation that's really sexy. >_> He has great interactions with Ahiru, too. I almost cried watching that dance in the Lake of Despair.
Least Favorite
Color: Green. You'd think I'd like it, since it's Fakir's hair color, but my ex ruined the color for me long ago. He was born on St. Patrick's. What a travesty, right?
Animal: I don't think there's any animal I really hate. I can't recall.
Food: Sushi. You know, as much as I love Japanese culture, I can't stand their cuisine. Sushi must be an acquired taste. Oh, and how can I forget coffee. Coffee, coffee, coffee. Ruining all my chocolate and milkshakes since I was old enough to consume them.
Scents/smells: Smoke. BO. x_o REALLY SMALL EDIT, ONLY ONE ON THE APP: Also. Wet. Dog.
Fairy tale: The Princess and the Pea. I understand the moral, but I've never liked the story. It was just.. not really developed to me.
Princess Tutu character, explain: Kraehe is a real bitch in the beginning. But, hey, Fakir was a real bastard, so I don't have any dislike with her. I'm not a huge fan of Mytho.. It seems like he completely forgets Tutu's mission and existence when Rue admits her love for him, but again that makes sense, Rue was there for him for almost her whole life. ...Plus, I kind of wanted Ahiru to be with Fakir instead, so I.. didn't really mind. I guess you'd say I like Mytho the least. But I definitely don't hate him.
Questions
Have you ever taken ballet lessons? How did you find the experience? I went to classes when I was around 3. I can barely remember them - at all! If given the chance, though, I'd like to take it up again. The series inspired me.
If you find out that the only way to save the one you love is to disappear into a flash of light, what would you do? Throw a party over finding out I've been turned into Tutu - Then I'd take the opportunity to make out with Fakir.
LOL. But, seriously? Well, if I had somebody I loved, I guess I'd end up disappearing.
If your life were a fairy tale, which would it be (and why?) My life isn't really similar to any fairy tale.. Is there a fairy tale that centers around being in a place where nobody quite understands you and you'd just like to get out? That's what I'm feeling right now. xD
Picture (optional -- feel free to just describe yourself if you don't have/don't want to post pictures):
This was taken this summer.. Probably one of my better shots. My hair is red now, though. A deep red. And not as shaggy. Also, here's me
earlier in the year. Links to 3 apps you voted on (edit your post as you go on):
(1) (2) (3) Anything else? :3 Nope! LOL SMALLEDIT: Man. My personality must change a ton on my mood, I'm not as much of a Fakir fangirl as I came off. xD I mean, yes, I do like him, but I guess I was on a kind of series-induced high that made me go "lol-let-me-rape-you". ERM. ANYWAY. Keep voting whatever, I am a lot more like Pique than I thought, too. I just thought I should, like.. throw this out there. >_>
