The Perfect Treatment
Ryo was sitting on the balcony. He looked out over Tokyo. He sighed heavily. The houses were pretty and the view was amazing since he was sitting on the 26th floor. Yet he couldn’t see the beauty of his surroundings.
“Ryo!” a voice shouted from inside the apartment. “Don’t sit out there for hours. You have to move a bit. I know that you are sad your girlfriend killed herself but you cannot stop living because of that.” A person appeared in the doorway to the balcony. “The most important thing is to keep living. Even if you are incredibly sad you cannot give up on life.”
“Shut up Yamapi. I don’t care. I just want to be here. Can’t you just leave me in peace? I never asked for you to worry about me,” was Ryo’s angry response.
“I’ve had enough of you sitting here being depressed. It’s been months since she died. I’m going to get you to go to a psychologist. You don’t seem to be able to deal with this yourself and I cannot help more than I am already doing so this is the last resort.”
Ryo kept quiet, staring out over a Tokyo that was enveloped in the dark.
“I have booked a meeting for you tomorrow. Here is the card to the psychologist. You better be on time, you know that I will force you there otherwise,” Yamapi warned. “You don’t want me to go that far.”
Ryo moved no more than he absolutely had to in order to take the card from Yamapi’s hand. He turned it over to glance at the card.
Kamenashi Kazuya
Trauma specialist
---
Kame pushed the button on the phone that connected him to his secretary and said that she could send in the next patient now.
Kamenashi Kazuya sighed. It was another day filled with a lot of chores for him. He enjoyed doing most of them but sometimes it got to be too much even for him. He was known as the turtle, he was not particularly slow in doing things but he was very careful when doing it and always got perfect results thanks to that.
When he heard a knock on the door Kame said ‘come in’ in a loud voice. He immediately set his eyes upon his new patient. At once he saw that the other didn’t seem to have any vitality left in him. Kame also noticed the other one’s sexy aura. It was not often that he had such a good looking patient.
“Take a seat,” Kame politely said and gestured to the chair in front of his desk. “I am Kamenashi Kazuya, a psychologist specialising in dealing with patients that has gone through traumas. Tell me, what is your name?”
“Nishikido Ryo,” the man answered brusquely. He sat down on the chair without taking a look around the room. Kamenashi’s office was furnished very simply so admittedly there was not that much to look at. Nevertheless, Kame had never seen anyone being so uninterested in his surroundings before.
“May I ask why you are here, Nishikido-san?” Kame prodded gently.
“My friend forced me to come here.”
“Do you know why your friend forced you to come here? Is there a special reason?”
“No. Yes. He thought that I needed to ‘live more’ and told me to go here.”
“Okay. Why would he have thought that you needed to ‘live more’ as you put it?” Kame opened up a notebook in front of him and started scribbling in it. So far it only said, Nishikido Ryo on the top of the page.
“I don’t know.” Ryo had been sitting absolutely still, like a statue, since he came inside. He had glanced at Kame’s face for a few seconds when he introduced himself but now he was merely staring at the wall behind Kame.
“You don’t have any clue?” Kame continued prodding. Perhaps the other one was a bit shy, Kame thought, so it would be best to deal with this carefully.
“No.”
“Your friend, Yamashita Tomohisa,” Kame paused there for a moment to confirm it was the right name before he continued, “contacted me before. He was the one to book this meeting. He told me that you were depressed. Is this correct?” Kame poised the pen over the paper, ready to scribble away.
Ryo didn’t answer for a few seconds. Then a simple yes was uttered and nothing more. Kame quickly wrote depressed, unwilling to admit it on the paper.
“Would you like to tell me why you are depressed?”
“No.”
This was difficult. It was not often Kame met someone so unwilling to talk. More often he got patients that wouldn’t keep quiet. They kept blabbering on and on, sometimes about completely unrelated things. Kame was growing a bit tired of such people. Therefore Ryo was like a fresh wind. Despite that Kame was starting to feel frustrated.
When no-one had said anything for a few minutes Kame decided to break the silence. It couldn’t go on like this. If the patient didn’t want to talk about his problems he would have to find some way to get the patient’s trust and then he could perhaps start treating the patient.
“Are you good at any games?” Kame asked. Ryo blinked at him. That was the first reaction Kame had gotten from Ryo and he decided to take it as a good sign. “Which one would you prefer to play?”
They started playing cards, chess, backgammon and scrabble along with a variety of other games. They both had an enjoyable time and they hardly noticed that the time was passing. When Kame glanced up at the clock after a particularly hard game of chess he saw that Ryo had already been here for the hour he had booked and that is was time for the next patient.
“This was fun, wasn’t it?” Kame smiled gently at Ryo. “Unfortunately the time is up now. You make a formidable opponent. Thank you for a good game, Nishikido-san. I would like it if you booked another time with me as soon as possible.”
Ryo frowned. “Is that necessary? I’ve already been here for one session. That should be enough.”
“This is a process that will take time. I’m afraid you have to come back here soon. Please talk with my secretary and she can help you find a suitable time for the next session. Take care.” Kame started putting away all the games to prepare for his next patient.
“Sure,” Ryo agreed after contemplating for a while.
---
Kame was walking along the lake. He had taken a day off as he liked to do sometimes, just to experience the nature. He was all alone, walking and thinking.
Kame rarely left his work behind completely and he liked to contemplate about new ways he could help his patients in. One of his patients had really stuck with him though. Nishikido Ryo.
He was the first patient Kame had that had refused to open up to him. With his charm Kame had managed to crack even the hardest nuts before but with this man it seemed impossible.
Kame laughed when he saw a few adorable ducks swimming in the lake close to him. They were doing some really odd antics. He had never seen ducks behave that before. Then it struck him - he shouldn’t treat Nishikido like he had all his previous patients. Obviously Nishikido was in need of another treatment. The perfect treatment.
Kame quickly formed a plan in his mind. The trick was to do something he had never done before. He had never treated a patient like anything other than a patient. He had decided how to go about treating Ryo’s depression.
---
“Why did you request to meet me here?” Ryo asked when he stopped in front of Kamenashi-sensei. They were standing outside the entrance to the biggest amusement park in Tokyo.
“I thought that we would enjoy ourselves today. Don’t you agree?” Kame said light-heartedly before he started off towards the ticket booth. When he saw that Ryo wasn’t moving he walked back to him; took a hold of his hand and started dragging him to the ticket booth.
“Don’t worry. I will pay for the tickets. I will also pay if you want to eat or drink something in there.”
“That’s not what I’m worried about,” Ryo muttered quietly to himself. This Kamenashi-sensei was weird he decided. He didn’t behave like a professional psychologist at all. Not that he had any experience with psychologist but Kame was not at all what he had expected.
“I thought the usual way for psychologists was to ask the patient questions and then prescribe them medicine. Not to drag them to amusement parks.”
“This is a new method. Since there has to be trust established between patient and psychologist, trust is vital for a good and effective treatment, I decided that this will be a way for us to get closer to one another and for you to start trusting me,” Kame explained.
Ryo grunted. He wasn’t entirely convinced that this was such a good idea. However, after contemplating for a while Ryo finally decided to enjoy himself. At least for this session he could be happy.
---
Kame had decided that a newly opened restaurant would be their third venue for a session. Taking the patient to the amusement park and to restaurants was something he has never done before with any patient. Yet it felt right to do it with Nishikido Ryo.
That man was still a mystery to Kame. Ryo hadn’t revealed anything at all about himself at the amusement park. Kame had tried not to be too obvious with his probing but Ryo had cleverly managed to avoid answering all unwanted questions.
Kame was actually starting to feel frustrated with his patient. How come Nishikido Ryo never opened up to him? Speaking of the devil, Ryo had just stepped out of a car and was quickly walking towards Kame.
“I’m starting to like these sessions,” Ryo said. “This is a very fancy place for a therapy session, you know.”
“Yes, but I think it’s worth it,” Kame answered. The more Ryo talked, even if it was about unrelated things, the happier Kame became. He felt as if his patient had started to open up to him.
They went inside the restaurant to their table and looked their menus. Once they had ordered they sat there quietly for a while. They were simply feeling the atmosphere of the place.
“I still can’t believe you had trouble going on the roller coasters,” Ryo said with a grin. “Psychologists shouldn’t be allowed to be wimps. They wouldn’t be successful psychologists if they were, right? Since you have to be pretty strong, mentally, in order to help others. You cannot be too scared to go on roller coasters if you have a strong psyche.”
Kame sniffed. “But I did go in the end, didn’t I? Besides what do you know about psychologists and how one should be. I can tell you that being afraid of doing something isn’t the same as being mentally weak.”
Ryo grinned back at Kame. He was about to say something in retort but the food was brought to them that instant and he was too hungry to focus on anything else than eating.
Kame smiled happily when he saw Ryo happily tucking in. This session had also been a success, despite not getting closer to what was bothering Ryo the two had become much closer to one another.
---
Ryo was sitting and watching TV when his doorbell rang. He stood up and slowly made his made to the door. He opened it for a quick peek outside. When Ryo saw that it was only Yamapi with some pizza he reluctantly opened.
“Hello. I bring pizza for all the hungry people,” Yamapi greeted him cheerfully.
Ryo sneered. That was such a typical Yamapi-behaviour. Yamapi was happy when he saw Ryo’s sneer. He hadn’t sneered in a while and in a weird way Yamapi had missed Ryo’s snarky self.
“Let me in,” Yamapi said at the same time that he was pushing past Ryo into the apartment. “What are you doing?”
“Football match,” Ryo simply answered on his way to the kitchen. He could predict how this evening would turn out. Yamapi had pizza, there was football and then the only thing missing was the beer. Ryo grabbed two cold beers and made his way back to the living room.
“Fantastic,” Yamapi said. He had made himself comfortable on the sofa and opened up the pizza cartons. He took the beer that was handed to him by Ryo, opened it and quickly chugged it down.
“You seem to feel better,” Yamapi cautiously ventured. He didn’t want to pressure Ryo about his depression.
“Yeah, I do feel better as well,” Ryo lied.
---
The fourth appointment Kame had with Nishikido was in his normal office. He had decided to get it out of Ryo today. All the answers he hadn’t gotten before he was determined to get today. Otherwise there would be no point continuing these sessions. He did enjoy them but that was not the purpose of them. Kame was supposed to treat the other one.
“Show him in,” Kame said to his secretary through the phone.
Ryo waltzed in a few seconds later and went directly to sit on the chair he had sat on the last time he was there.
“No fancy restaurant or amusement parks this time?” Ryo smirked.
“No. I have really enjoyed those outings with you but now it is time for us to actually start working on your problem. If you don’t tell me more about your depression today I am afraid I will have to recommend you another psychologist,” Kame solemnly said.
“Eh,” Ryo couldn’t help the surprised sound escaping his mouth. That was not what he had expected when he came here. The only reason he still came to these meetings were because they actually weren’t like meetings with a psychologist.
“I guess I could tell you…” Ryo hesitantly started. He had become quite attached to Kame and he didn’t want to go someone else. He was sure Yamapi would force him to go anyway. “My girlfriend for two years killed herself three months ago. I had just come home, we shared an apartment and the first thing I saw when I entered was her body swinging from the ceiling. She had hanged herself. She had also left a note saying that had it not been for me she could have had a happy life…” Ryo’s voice trailed off at the end. He wasn’t sure he could say anything else about it.
Kame sat frozen in his chair. He did not expect such a sad story. But instead of saying everything he wanted to say the only words he let past his lips were ‘I see’.
He sat there for a few minutes watching tears form in Ryo’s eyes. When the first tear ran down his cheek Kame quickly walked around the table to kneel in front of Ryo. He put a hand on Ryo’s head, patting him awkwardly. “That’s horrible,” he said.
Ryo leaned into the gentle touch on his cheek. His tears had started to spill uncontrollably.
Kame raised himself up a little so it would be easier to envelop Ryo in his arms. He then hugged him tight. He couldn’t stand seeing Ryo crying.
---
After Ryo had finally decided to open up to Kame their relationship had turned really friendly. Ryo felt free to share everything of his life with Kame and Kame in turn shared snippets of his own life.
Ryo had almost become his normal old sarcastic self. He could still randomly burst into tears but overall he was much happier - thanks to Kamenashi-sensei. The sexy, hot, cute, adorable Kamenashi-sensei.
Ryo had decided he wanted to do something in turn for Kame so he had invited the other one out for a drink. Kame had quickly agreed and they had decided on a time and place.
This time it was Ryo that was sitting and waiting for Kame to appear. He finally came and Ryo lazily waved him over to where he was sitting. “What do you want? It’s my treat.”
Kame smiled and appreciatively let his gaze wander over Ryo’s body. “Just beer for me. At least to start with.” Kame tilted his head cutely to the side, “onegai?”
Ryo didn’t say anything in conformation. He walked directly to the bar to order and soon came back with two huge glasses filled to the brim with beer.
“Cheers”, they said in unison and clanked their glasses together.
---
Kame woke up the next day with a terrible headache. Kame was really bad with alcohol which was why he normally avoided the drink as much as he could. He turned around in the bed and groaned.
He had bumped into something soft and warm when he turned. He lazily opened his eyes, fearing what he would see. It was Ryo lying next to him on the bed. He poked Ryo on the shoulder just to see if it was real. Yes, it was real. He was lying in bed with Ryo.
Kame groaned again.
Ryo opened his eyes cautiously, he was afraid of getting dizzy. He felt that he had overdone the drinking yesterday. When he saw Kame lying very close to him his mood brightened though.
He smiled happily and scooted closer to Kame. “Good morning,” he whispered.
Kame couldn’t believe this. He did not go to the bar and drink so much that he had drunk sex with his patients. He simply didn’t. Kame was a very professional psychologist; he had never done anything against his work ethics. Now he had broken at least 7 of the rules he had set for himself.
“What is it?” Ryo asked since he sensed the frustration from Kame.
“I just had sex with my patient. That’s against all moral and ethics. I cannot be like this with a patient,” Kame miserably said.
“What does it matter?” Ryo asked. He nudged Kame in the chest. “We both know we wouldn’t have stayed psychologist-patient for long anyway. Our relationship wasn’t even like that from the start.”
“I guess you’re right…” Kame slowly admitted.
“I know I am right,” Ryo said. “I am always right,” he continued full of self-confidence.
“Shut up,” Kame said. Before Ryo had time to say anything in response Kame had shut him up with a kiss.
---
The doorbell to the Ryo’s apartment rang three times.
“Yes, yes, I am coming!” Ryo growled under his breath while he was on his way to the door. He stomped to it and opened it quickly. “It’s you again, Yamapi.”
“Yes,” Yamapi happily said. “And I bring pizza.” He didn’t wait for an invitation but simply walked inside the apartment. “What were you doing by the way? It looks as if you were sleeping since you only have your pyjama pants on. Please don’t tell me you go to sleep at 6 PM on a Friday evening.”
Yamapi continued ranting until he came to an abrupt stop. He had walked into the kitchen to dump the pizza cartons on the table and to grab a beer himself. What he saw in the kitchen made him stop with all thoughts of beer forgotten.
“Shuji!” Yamapi happily exclaimed and hugged Kame tight.
“Eh, you know each other? And what do you mean with ‘Shuji’?” Ryo questioned. He was getting irritated at Yamapi for hogging Kame to himself so he quickly hit Yamapi on the head and when he was distracted he grabbed a hold of Kame himself.
“Yes,” Kame replied. “We went to the same school. We had nicknames for each other as well. I was Shuji and he was Akira,” Kame explained and pointed at Yamapi.
“But what are you doing here, Shuji?” Yamapi asked. Then he fully looked at the way the two were dressed, which is to say barely, and how they were standing, so close to each other in an embrace. “Wait! Are you together? Where you having sex just before I came?”
“Yes and yes. We are boyfriends,” Ryo replied. “Be glad that you came after we finished. Otherwise I would have clawed your eyes out. Remember that I will do that if you ever interrupt me when I’m having sex.”
Yamapi gulped. Then, since he was a nice guy after all, he said: “congratulations.”
“Thank you, Yamapi,” Kame said. “But Ryo, what if Yamapi would want to join us?”
“Would your butt be able to handle that, Kazu-chan?” Ryo asked while squeezing said butt.
“What are you talking about?” Yamapi asked. He hadn’t been able to follow the conversation at all. What did they mean with ‘if he wanted to join’ and what about Shuji’s butt? Then the realisation hit him.
Threesome.
