gospel fest
Last night the choir sang at gospel fest. The whole event was awesome. We sat through the christian and gospel soloest catagories, the dance catagory, and youth choirs. I enjoyed the dance catagory because the music was fun. The teams danced to hiphop, and some upbeat praise and worship. There were 30 acts before we went up as the first adult group. We were awesome! of course Charm ran out of memory just before we sang arg!! but I do have the song recorded from when we sang it at church a couple Sundays ago. At my church when we sing people applaud politely at the end, but at this concert the audience would cheer and clap throughout the song whenever well they felt like it. It was energizing! to sing with that kind of audience response. You could feel the energy and it had a great impact on our group. We didn't win by the way! but man were we good. I'd been ocncerned because we were supposed to sway during the final portion of the song and I didn't want to be the only one moving in the wrong direction. We were packed so close together that I just moved with the people on either side. It cool! I wish we could've done more than 1 song. Oh, we also had perfomrance by Sissy Houston Whitney Houston's mom. You can tell where w Whitney gets her voice and a couple of other grammy winning type people. I was quite ready for the noise to end by the time we left. I press my eyes when I'm going to sensory overload and don't even notice and someone pointed out that I was doing it last night and asked if my eyes hurt. Nope I'm just tired of vibration and noise LOL. We had to wait forever for the busses because they got locked in the parking area oops! I was glad I'd brought an extra coat! We got home at 1"30 and I fell asleep by 3. I did not make it to church this morning. I wish I had because all 3 of the choirs kids youth and adult sang together, but I will get the CD. Tonight I'm going to church with my friend Val. They are doing a drama thingy. My foot which didn't hurt to badly yesterday is back to throbbing again today. I need to go take some muscle relaxers. oh by the way i didn't bring Ellie to the concert. she is with my parents and is doing well. Mom took her for a walk around the island and she enjoyed sniffing everything she went by. I will go pick her up tom after therapy.
