Hello fellow band nerd!

I was in band from my 9th grade year till my junior year of college...then I dropped out b/c of the politics, and I didn't really have time for it anyway. Heck, I even joined the band sorority, Tau Beta Sigma!

I played mallet percussion, what'd you play?

And I dated band geeks too....I always seemed to date the tuba and trombone players....something about the big horns and long slides o_O

Vice President of Kappa Kappa Psi - 1996 at Utah State University. Went to the regional convention, but wasn't able to go to a National Convention.

Yes, it was a fraternity - but at our school it was a co-ed frat. The frat was for girls in the horn section and the sorority was for the winds...

I was a colorguard girl - Flags mostly. I did play Bass on the keyboard at one Jazz concert because they had no Bass player. And I've been known to hold a cymbal for a cute snare player or do the triangle. Dated a quad player too :) And Tuba. And Trumpet.

My one friend in the trombone section was known for saying "Wanna blow my bone?" Then when he got hit he said "I meant my TROMBONE...." Hee Hee

I played the french horn in middle school(6-8). I stopped when i got to HS cuz i didn't want to be in the marching band. i'm not a marcher and beside that i picked the french horn cuz it is pretty and the horn for marching looks more like a trumpet than a horn and they wouldn't let me be in just a concert band so I quit. My older sister was in the marching band and the director wasn't that good so I decided i would rather not join in cuz i had heard some pretty bad horror stories from my sister.
I never dated anyone in band but then again none of them asked.(well i had one ask me (a tuba player) in band class in 6th but i told him i wasn't allowed to date till i was 16. Poor guy never asked again). there were cuter flute and clarnet players anyway.

I used to have HS guard pic on my computer but that was before the crash of 02.05. I'm sure I have them upstairs. I have some good USU pics too. A few from Ireland and other various football games.

I have no apparatus any more, but I threaten to go and buy one online everynow and then.
