I feel the need to speak.
Hmm... about what? I could do the Friday Five I have... maybe later.
I have a new friend and it appears she found me through the schools option. Well, I figured out who she was and now I am wondering if she knows who I am? Now that I friended her, she could read through my posts and figure it out I guess. But I thought of few things I could say that might give her a clue. And it's stuff I haven't talked much about anyway.
Did you all know that I was on the colorguard in High School (yes, fire_sister, you knew.) I was on my sophomore - senior years. I did Flags at first, but I also did banners and then my senior year did rifles. I really enjoyed it. I also did it at BYU and then later USU (where I met fire_sister.) I loved being in band. I was one of the colorguard, or "attached units" that liked the band. I didn't think they were geeks, they were my friends. I even... dated band guys! One of the first guys I met at HS my freshman year was an arrogant trombone player. We dated for 5 days (yet he appeared back in my romantic life several times later in my high school career.) Later I dated another band guy. I began hanging out with them, so at the end of my Freshman year I decided I wanted to be a part of it. My Jr. year I was the Band Sec/Treas. and my Sr. year I was the Band president. I wanted my daughter to be a part of band here, but she didn't like playing an instrument. Also, band here is so competitive. My school it wasn't so much. Basically everyone made it! My sophomore year was the best, after that we got a new band director and he wasn't as great. (He wasn't as drunk either...) Later I saw that my school didn't even have a marching band. That made me sad. I think band is one of the best things kids can be involved with in school.
Ok.... so I could go on and on! It was basically my whole HS experience. I had a great time. I was actually thinking a while back when they had my pseudo reunion, that we should plan a band reunion. I don't know if it would work, or if people now don't really care anymore. Anyway. That was me - I was a geek :)
