The children will lead us...
We drive by the temple at least every Wednesday for soccer practice, and other days too for appointments etc. I always point out the temple, but yesterday my son spotted it first and pointed it out. I said, "It sure is nice to have a temple in San Antonio. It helps remind me of Jesus."
He said, "Yeah, and it helps us remember that Heaven is close by us day by day."
I was really surprised at his comment and said, "You're right. What makes you say that?"
He says, "It's like the song. 'Some people think Heaven is far away. But it's close by us day by day.'" (Note - not the real lyrics, but what he thinks they are!)
Thank you Primary teachers :) Thank you composers of these beautiful songs that teach our children the principles of the Gospel. I am so grateful to have such a sweet boy who loves Jesus and only wants to do what is right. Even though I may not be teaching him as much as I should at home, he still has that strong desire.
I think I'm going to put the Children's Songbook CD's in my car. I think I need to hear these words of wisdom for myself too.
