Ok, so first of all, YAY for SPN and PD. I'm glad I was able to make you happy with those (and honestly, what more does a girl need than Lee Pace, Jensen Ackles, and Jared Padalecki, right? :D)
→ lost detail = Good point. I sometimes feel the same way, but I see that it's such a popular thing to do (focusing on the background rather than the people), and I wanted to give it a try. And the Chuck/snow one had a naturally insignificant Chuck so I couldn't do much about that (although, I personally like how that one turned out even if I'm not a huge fan of the style).
→ SPN fonts = #107 - I admit I chose that font on a whim (I didn't want to close down Photoshop and open up my downloaded fonts so I went with that one already came with the computer ... probably not the smartest thing). #97 - I understand how the size and color difference might be problematic, especially when the whole quote really goes together. I'll keep that in mind for next time.
I'm really pleased you like the colors on those 3. They were really tough to work with because S1 SPN was always so dark and I'm happy to hear they turned out well (I'm particularly proud of 99).
Thanks so much again for all the feedback! Enjoy your PD icons! :D

In truth I dont have so much of a problem with the Chuck/Snow one but was simply using it as an example for what I was trying to express. I certainly think you should keep experimenting with fluctuating foreground and background you're bound to find your happy median.
Actually more often than not preset fonts are better than downloaded font. We're actually forbidden to use downloaded font in typo and have to fall back on verified typefaces, I think in this case its more to do with the colours and the lean of the type. *shrugs* Im not quite certain.
Yeah, SPN is always hell for icon making. Its like old school Buffy where half the time you cant even see the fight scenes or if anyone is even on screen because its so damn dark.

I actually recently found a tut on LJ that is basically a font guide for icons and all the fonts in there were pretty much typical, preset fonts! So your class seems to be right. :)

LOL! So true! And weird how both BtVS and SPN brightened up their screens as the seasons passed! :D (And WOOT for fellow Buffy fan! :D)
