I'm not dead yet!

First order of business: I'm not dead, just busy. I may or may not catch up with the flist, but I won't reply to much unless it's sooopar important or a really good story.

Second: I did indeed finish The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat AND Lolita. Both were amazing, albeit in completely different ways. The first was made of many short stories on neuropsychological illnesses (yay!) and lots of medical language. The second was so obviously romantic literature it wasn't even funny (they spent a lot of time driving and most of that time was describing scenery). It was interesting in a completely different sense.

Third: I met someone on Facebook. 8D Now before you go all bonkers on me, he's a friend of a friend (who I know in person). Anyway, we got to talking about books. He noticed I liked Hannibal Rising and asked if I'd read the books that come after it. I said no, but I planned to.
Two days later, our mutual friend comes up to me at school and hands me The Red Dragon and The Silence of the Lambs. The guy I met bought me two books, to keep, after only having known him for two days.
Did I mention he likes webcomics?
He's awesome.

Fourth: I recently fell in love with this song.

Listen to it. Download it. It's free. Oh yeah.

Fifth: SCHOOL
1- TV/Film. The broadcasting project got organized together really quickly and didn't fail. I'd give us a C. One of the interviews was asking a football player what sports he liked and to give an example of him running in place. Wtf.

2- Calculus. We finally got assigned seating. Only not assigned. I never know what to say about this class. Nothing happens. ln x -> 1/x ?

3- Government. Mock trial was alright. I started laughing when talking about my dead dog. Not good. Also, they showed me a gun and asked if it was the one that killed my dog. I had no clue. They used this against me. Then Chris, my "husband" is questioned. He saves my ass by saying "To my wife, a handgun is a handgun".

4- Photography. We made cameras out of pringles cans and took pictures. Pretty cool. Next, we're doing portraits. You know, studio-style?

5- Physiology. We're doing bones. Dissected a cow's bone. It's more fun when you're not wearing gloves, so you can actually feel the articular cartilage and spongy bone and stuff.

6- English. Frankenstein is ... eh. Don't like it much. The actual process of building the monster (which is the best part!) was like, half a chapter. And the rest of the book was him mourning. We analyzed a poem today. In a nutshell (in the words of someone else): Nature it pretty. Nature is still pretty, but there was some sketchy stuff going on here (maybe narrator killed a guy). Wow, this sucks. I have a friend.

Sixth: Winter-Een-Mas is in nine days. Obamamas (haha) is on four days. I will need to get a calendar within those four days. My current one is a George Bush countdown calendar and only lasts until the 20th.

Seventh: Happy New Year. 2009 is awesome so far. I don't believe in New Years Resolutions. My resolution was not to make one. Broke it as soon as I made it. That must be a record.

Lastly: Does anyone know when Heroes comes back?

school, randomness, life
