Avatar Catchup
Haven't been on awhile. Two posts today (hopefully) one for Avatar stuffs, one for everything else.
So yeah, I caught up on Avatar. Actually I was at someone else's house for one of them Goan parties and flipping through channels so I watched little scenes there but people kept changing the channel back to Remember the Titans and whatever else was on. Then after that was over I got to watch the last hour, although I was a bit confused cuz I hadn't seen the two episodes before the finale or the first hour of the finale.
- Sleepy sleepy ... BOOM! Hooray for immediate action!
- When did the group get reduced to just the immediate Gaang? Where did Haru and the others go?
- "How about I chase you around for a bit to make it really feel like old times?" That was totally a line from Stormbenders ... wasn't it?
- I'm feeling conflicted on the topic of Bitch!Katara. On one hand, she is so much better than Motherly!Katara. On the other hand, she should've trusted Zuko like, I dunno, as soon as he saved her dad?
- LOL SOKKASUKISEX xP (say that five times fast)
- Zuko coming to Sokka for Katara problems was rather sweet. And Sokka being serious for once. And I like Sokka with his hair down. :) Oh and "I care what she thinks about me" Gaw.
- Aang trying to persuade Katara not to go with Zuko is just jealous. :P And haha at his peace and love bit followed by "Yeahnokaythanks" from Zuko.
- Was it a full moon when Katara bloodbended? And haha, Zuko was all "Bwuht?" And then goes on to interrogate the captain.
- "My name is Katara. You killed my mother. Prepare to die." "Actually, no I didn't." "Oh..."
- Haha Yon Rha gets dominated by mommy :P No wonder he's willing to give her up to spare his own life.
- Wow. So Katara's mother died to save her daughter. Just wow. Wouldn't Katara have reacted somehow to learning that? Like surprise or anger or something?
- RAGE RAGE RAGE AND THEN ... nothing. Sigh.
- Where are all the random clothing changes coming from?
- Aang is totally Peter Pan and Sokka is totally Shaggy from Scooby Doo
- Blue Spirit/Aang :P
- "Oh look, the great divide!" "Meh, let's skip it." WIN (I didn't really like that episode)
- Man Toph FTMFW xD
- Zuko's hair goes from boring topknot to shampoo commercial hair to spiky. I don't remember Zuko ever having spiky hair. His current hair is more of a mop or shag or emo hair than spiky.
- Hooray for the Zutara cave being made a Zutara cave!
- When Aang confronted Katara about their relationship I realized how anorexic her arm looks. It's like, only bone. Sigh.
- Toph's reassurance was cute.
- New ship: Sokka/actor!Sokka
- I first saw the chase scene at the party and was like 'bwuh? why's Zuko chasing Aang?' but I guess Zuko just wanted to chase Aang one last time.
- Toph totally loves Zuko. "I wanna Zuko Life Changing Field Trip!" and later her disappointment "So my life sucks and I ran away and my parents don't love me and ..." "Yeah I don't care." "Worst field trip ever.." But dude Zuko, you do exactly the same thing with the 'that little baby grew up to be the worst father ever' deal.
- Water! Fire! Earth! Wind! Fan and Sword! And I am CAPTAIN PLANET!
- Aangst gets kinda annoying after a while. Like everyone is telling him to just grow some balls and do it and he's just like "No one understands all this pain and conflict inside me waah!"
- MelonLord!Toph is the win.
- I bet you people are writing Momo/melon fics now.
- Jun is the awesome. Toph loves her too. She seems to move on fast.
- So many Zutara moments make up for the inevitable Kataang.
- Didn't quite get what the Lionturtle taught him. He just kind of moaned and touched Aang (oh god, here come the fics) and Aang suddenly knew what to do.
- Haha Grandpakku :P And ripped!Bumi
- AWW for the Iroh and Zuko moment. Now did you really think he WOULDN'T forgive you?
- Azula only likes maraschino cherries. And I was kinda hoping all those banished people would turn against her.
- Haha Toph attacking the ship was like 'dat da da dat da, dat WOOSH!' and metalsuit!Toph was pretty cool too.
- Happy birthday to that one dude. :P
- Good question Li, who is banished?
- Azula is hallucinating. And she has a bad haircut. :P Her friends' betrayal must've triggered a PTSD of some sort. (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
- Ooh, firefalls (waterfalls of fire) look pretty. Why is fire and lightning always on the bad side?
- Haha Aang is all "you have the power to commit suicide"
- DESTRUCTION!!!
- Blue vs yellowred WOOSH! The Agnee Kai was more interesting than the Aang vs Firelord fight imo cuz Aang just dodges stuff. And Aang shoulda spent more time fighting in the water. Cuz ya know, water beats fire?
- When Zuko got hit by the lightning... Noo Katara, run up to him and heal him! Tell him you love him! ... or just the first part. But really, Maiko and Kataang can make out all they want, but that there is love.
- "Prepare to join them. Prepare to die!" Yeah the second part was kinda implied.
- Sokka "Have I ever mentioned how I'd totally date you if you were older?"
- NOO SPACE SWORD!! Hooray for Suki!
- So Aang goes all Avatar State ... and rips his shirt off? Cuz I guess it's not an epic battle unless all the men/boys are shirtless? Oh and is it just me, or does Aang look older in the Avatar State?
- Haha Aang is a planet. And dude, Katara shoulda just bloodbended? Oh and did Azula just stay chained there for the rest of forever? Unresolvedness.
- Hooray for more Azularocket! Only this time, daddy does it too.
- And now, you shall pay the ultimate price ... SPLASH! Nice timing, kid. Oh and that shiny face thing? Kinda creepy, kinda jack-o-lantern. I didn't quite get what was going on with the blue and red and the red creeping up on Aang.
- King of the ... guys who don't win. Cmon, she coulda done better. King of the Losers maybe?

- Sokka is obviously not an artist. But honestly, Toph's blind jokes get kinda old after a while. Oh and Zuko's hair isn't spiky, it's like a mop or emo hair or something, but not spiky.
- The inevitable Kataang kiss was too drawn out and dramatic. And I dunno, Katara is so much more mature than he is (or seems that way at least) that it almost seems like pedophilia. And yet, some fans write Kataang prn. *shudders*
Alright, so I didn't really like the ending (and not just cuz of Kataang) (Aang isn't mature enough to be in a relationship). It just didn't fit for me. However, all the Zutara made up for the Kataang bit at the end so that didn't matter too much for me. And I honestly don't hate Maiko either; it's kind of like dark chocolate/bittersweet.
Oh and just to clear this up: Yes I ship Zutara, but I never really thought they'd end up together. It's a kids show, so Kataang is inevitable. I don't like it, but it's inevitable. It's just something I've accepted.
Also, I kinda wanna write a fic about Zuko finding his mother, although I'm not sure I'd be able to do her justice.
