Freedom has to do with not accepting any external authority, not allowing any institution to mold and shape with a specific binding image in mind. Freedom has to do with intrinsic motivation, living from the source ones own conciousness, ones own nature. Conformity is the antithesis and the adversary of freedom.
When a person lives free, they live strong, they live sane - humans are naturally as sane as any tiger or groundhog, but we have this tremendous potential which can go in many directions, a potential we abuse and allow to be abused. Authority of any sort takes away our freedom, and without that, we're lost. The mind and soul grow weak and ugly, the only true ugliness, when chained by the will of another.
I don't hate groups. Organizing is natural and neccessary for survival, but orgainizing doesn't have to be constricting. I think large groups of people, which did not happen before agriculture, create a situation in which not every person has a voice, and the voiceless give certain administrators the ability to define the terms of survival, and often do so at gunpoint. Go to school, follow a curiculuum, get a job, pay the rent, don't bark too loudly, and you survive.
Some survive better than others... it's ridiculous. If we're all equal why don't we all have an equal share in the worries and victories of mankind?
After generations of an education not focused on challenging a person to rise up to the heights of their own strengths and their own willpower, to know themselves and live independently - and education that instead says FOLLOW and OBEY, your natural curiousities will not sustain you, humans have been beaten and coddled into something that looks like a de-evolution. Something pathetic in place of the beautiful unique person they could have been if they were free from the beginning.
In a situation where cooperation is no longer vital to our survival, and that's what we have in large groups centralized on agriculture, those broken bonds create an empty space for an insane disease of lies. The biggest lie - someone else knows what is best for you.
