Same old, same old really. Overworked again, five team members left in the last two weeks, out of around 12 of us. It used to be that people would take the relative earning penalty in working for a charity in nice surroundings, that economy no longer really exists, and like anywhere else we were already expected to do more with less prior to these losses. Just another thing to ride out until it blows over, but will it?

In it's favour is having access to the private wood at work, with the rather amazing carpet of bluebells it displays at this time of year, even on a cloudy day 10 minutes before sunset...

The other day when I got home from work I was pretty exhausted and just sprawled myself on our couch with no plan for what to do next. After a little while I realised Wenyu was in the kitchen, I couldn't see but I could she was doing something. As I lay there in the warm hope it was my dinner she was preparing it struck upon me to not get up and check, just incase she wasn't. Felt like I was really living in the moment.

Today was my one day off in a run of eleven, we went out in the countryside and walked and walked and walked, trying to fit three days out into one, and just about did.

The last expectations of visiting China this year are rapidly evaporating. Nobody seems to know how they transfer from zero-Covid into whatever it is the rest of the world has. 600 people per day still dying with Covid in the UK, and it's like it's not even worth counting anymore. Apart from the obvious mistakes at the very beginning I feel we can't be too judgy about China's position right now. Never thought we'd get to the point where we could honestly say our government lies just as much as theirs, that's pretty much where we are though.
I don't pin my allegiances to any party, and I'm definitely not religious, but I'm at the point of praying for the Tories to get a good kicking in the local elections next week.
