The premiere has passed. About 60 people ended up coming. The show's pretty lame, but that's pretty much what we've been aiming for, I guess. And I suppose it's not bad for my and Nathaniel's first job in the entertainment business (if you want to consider this entertainment).
It turns out, as I discovered while talking to the President of TiE, that the little script that Nathaniel and I made up early last April (while we had no idea what the show was about) was exactly what he was looking for. I think I made some good conversation with him about movies and the business and where we want to go in that area. He may be a good person to look to if we ever need funding for a project.
After the showing, Paresh let me tag along with a bunch of his close, pretty, older friends to some high-brow night club in San Francisco. I felt pretty out of place, being the only one who wasn't gulping down $9 drink after $9 drink. I've never been much for dancing either. I got my kicks from Paresh getting drunk off of two drinks and getting loose/cranky/forgetful everywhere.
Despite the large St. Patty's day crowd downtown, the feeling of solitude was enourmous. I kind of liked it, for the time being...gave me some time to think.
But I'm too tired to do that anymore...so I think I'll get packed for the trip tomorrow. It's been fun, California. I'll be back.
