Had a very good day today...a good weekend in fact.
First of all, I got to sleep in for 2 days in row, and will again tomorrow, which is always good. There are few things I appreciate more than sleep.
Nothing exciting to report, only that my weekend was quite relaxing. My mandolin skills hit a high note today; I had breakthrough in my chopping technique. Just when I was convinced that I was never going to be able to properly chop, it "clicked". After what was probably half an hour of desperately trying to get my left hand to do what my imagination wanted it to (and repeating the chord structure to "Buffalo Gals"), the message finally got to it. Thus, another stride was made on the musical front.
So I have developed another guilty pleasure, though it comes as no surprise as I am one who gets a kick out of cheesy needless drama; "The OC." It is shallow, vain, unintelligent and I can't get enough.
Thus let the ridicule begin, but just let me say that it was Brad who brought this sinful addiction upon me. He started watching the first season and it was only a matter of time before Kevin and I were hooked. And I mention Kevin because he and I share a similar talent (or perhaps, IQ requirement?) for predicting every major love interest, breakup, dramatic sequence, and major plot twist sometimes episodes before they happen. Call it luck, or perhaps just competence, but we get an unhealthy kick out of clairvoyantly calling the shots well before they happen. Seriously, it is out of hand. We just spent the last 4 hours of our time watching episodes, making fun of the shallow plot development, and jumping off the couch and nailing high-fives when we are correct...not to mention rating various females and their outfits.
It is such a sick, pretentious pleasure that Kevin and I have decided that the 4 seasons of The OC are no longer enough; we are moving to Hollywood to write/produce the 5th season. We figure that if we have the ability to predict storyline, we obviously have what it takes to write the thing. So screw school, screw our jobs, we're bringin' The OC back and makin' a place for ourselves in The Real Orange County....
Hrm, that sounds familiar...someone should make a reality TV show called that...
