I passed my methods midterm!!! Actually, I did better than pass-- I got 26/25. YAY! Thank you, God. And also thank heavens for bonus questions (there were 5  extra points available there). So even without the bonus questions, I would've gotten at least an 80. I know that's not super (I would've been crushed by that grade in college), but keeping in mind that this is a graduate level methods class in a department that prides itself on offering good methods courses, I'd be quite, quite pleased with an 80. I think I will actually do well in this class, after all. Hooray!!!

In other news, thought about some things today that I hadn't thought of/articulated before, which was helpful. I think I need to do a better job of being nice to myself. Yes, there are things I need to hold myself to a higher standard on, but there are also areas where I could not beat myself up so much. So balancing that would be a good idea.

Got a mailer today about early voting. It had a little partisan advertising, but it also had the location, dates, and times of where I should go to vote early. This is one political ad that was actually super helpful! So I will most likely be voting October 24th after I teach... and that means I need to go ahead and do some research on the local candidates and issues.

Almost done rereading The Princess Bride. It wasn't quite as satisfying a reread as I'd hoped-- I forgot what a knucklehead Buttercup is. I mean, really, Westley can do way better. In a way it's refreshing to have a main character be admittedly somewhat thick and alright with that fact, but the fact that all she's got going for her is her beauty (in addition to not having wits, she also has no real redeeming personality traits) makes it hard to believe the love story between her and Westley. Anyway, I still want to read Buttercup's Baby, and Goldman better not die before he actually writes it. Please. Knock on wood. All that jazz.
