Girls nite out
Yesterday,I went to see my friend Bob and the rest of the gang I went to college with. They were having a yard sale at Bob's house and I went to offer support and maybe buy some of the stuff they were selling. From Brian (who's nickname is Sal, I don't know why) I bought two really cheesy 70's era globe lamps, which will be perfect for the the studio. The lamps actually work and it only set me back 5 bucks for the pair. From Dave (who's nickname is Pope, I don't know why) I bought some CDs (basic mainstream stuff, Missy Elliot, Cheryl Crow etc...) not so much for the music, but more for production ideas, basically study materials. 3 CDs for a buck, you can't beat it.
From Bob (who's nickname is Po, it's because his last name is Podrosky) I got some books, stuff on Zen, a James Thurber book, the script from Hiroshima Mon Amour and a Banana Yoshimoto book. From Natalie (who's nickname is 'Talie, I think you can guess why) I bought a sampler candle pack for Allison. From John (who's called Mutt...I won't even guess why) I bought nothing.
After the sale, Po, Davewood (another dave ), Patsy and I went to see the movie Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, universe, Rahway... or something like that. It sucked. It was a half baked movie with uninteresting characters and a plot line that was all over the place. Don't waste your money. 90 minutes of my life I will never get back.
We consoled ourselves by going to the Court en Bleu diner in Edison. We were in the heart of high hair and stretchy pants and of course when you're in a group of loud Mary's, well, all eyes fell on us as we laughed and giggled to the table. It was a lot of fun and I got to catch up on the gossip from the group. We've been friends for many years and I regret not spending more time with them.
AFter a visit to Dairy Queen, I came home and had a really nice on-line conversation with Allison, who's coming home tomorrow. I miss her a lot and I can't wait to see her.
I think today, I'm going to take it easy and get stuff ready for Allison's arrival.
