I flew back to Newcastle for the weekend. It was the Pigs Peake 2007 vintage release for the members and everyone they decide to drag along (in my case, 6 other someones). My flight out on Saturday was delayed an hour, so I only got two hours at home before I had to leave. I just hung out with The-Sister-Whose-Glare-Can-Kill-At-50-Paces (I have to get her a shorter name) and watched Bedknobs and Broomsticks on TV. I was surprised I remembered most of the songs. My Disney childhood has much to answer for.
It was drizzly at the vineyard, but they had a big tent that worked quite well. The wine, as always, was exceptional, and the oysters and prawns were as good as the year before. I took two photos before I was too busy drinking to remember.
The next day I spoke to my parents who are in India as I was getting over a slight seediness. Or mild hangover... Lots of water and toast with promite.
After that I was off to lunch with a very good group of friends, then straight from lunch to dinner with another very good group of friends, then home for a nap, then out to breakfast with another good group of friends, then on the plane home.
I'm a bit upset because I wanted to see my horse, but it was raining most of the time, and I wanted to see my grandfather, but I saw too many good groups of friends to fit him in.
Oh well, I'll be back there soon enough.
I don't know how I'll go at work tomorrow.
