Korea can be pretty friggin' awesome sometimes. Take this morning for instance. In the space of one hour (that's 60 minutes), Ryan and I were able to see three different doctors. One for the TB test, one to have a scary blue mole removed, and the last to give us medication for our coughs and allergies. Then, still within the same hour, we hit the pharmacy to get our prescriptions filled. Grand total? $50. $50! Amazing! I'm going to go to the doctor all of the time! I'm planning all kinds of plastic surgery and I'm going to have every single mole removed from my body. Why? Why not! It's just so cheap and safe.
The other thing that I love in Korea are the banks. You can update your passbook at the atm so you don't have all those pesky little receipts cluttering up your wallet and you always know how much money you have. And if you do get a receipt there are little shredders on the atms. Then to add to my delight, there is a kiosk in the lobby that you can pay all your bills from.
one more thing that's great are all of the markets. On my bike ride home, I can pick up pretty much anything I could ever want for cheap. Bedsheets? You got it! Five pounds of tomatoes? Sure. It's great. It's like Korea was invented for the organizationally disinclined and for people who have better things to do than drive to Meijer. I fucking love it.
And have I told you about miso soup? Dwinjong jjigae is red miso soup with lots of veggies and mussels- oh god what am I going to do without it and the dollar sushi rolls?
