Tulane lies about your room condition (rooms not on the first floor were damaged) and your stuff DOES go missing (I met people whose laptops and jewelry were stolen). All they do is tell you to fill out a form for the missing stuff

I have to agree with just1boy. I was pretty pissed off to realize that half of my room had been packed and identified incorrectly, that my luggage had been opened (when I made sure it was closed) I had a box of CDs missing and was generally unimpressed with the way we were given to retrieve our things. I had to ask the guys on the moving trucks multiple times to check for my room number, as I had a GIANT suitcase and 3 storage bins full of belongings they forgot to bring to me.
Also, The administration is painting a stupidly rosy portrait of what's really going on. The whole city looks like a war zone...except maybe the French Quarter. I know that Tulane will be rebuilt by the time school opens, but it just worries me if I'll be healthy knowing that mold was all in my room. I have mold allergies, and basically, everything was moldy. They haven't even gotten it out of all of the dorms yet. They were sucking the 3rd and 4th floors dry of one of Aron when I was there today. It's gonna be all in the air and living in the film that covers the city.
