How is summer almost over?!
We closed on the house July 2 after some rather dumb dealings with the lending company. Now, the kitchen is painted a delightful mint green and yellow. It's very comfy feeling and retro! Josh has been working to put up the fence in the backyard. We got two cats- Sugar and Spice! Still in the process of moving. Grandma Elley came over today to help me :)
Josh's Mom visited the weekend after we closed. We went out to Bennett. We also went to meet up with Angie and Trey near Papilion to see Trey's club shoot off fireworks. It was the most impressive show I've ever seen! I went to San Antonio for a Teaching with Poverty in Mind conference. It had some wonderful ideas! I was happy to get to know some people at Elliott better, especially Sarah and Theresa :) Plus, I got to spend a little time with Ann and Meagan! Mom came out for her birthday. We did a whole bunch of yard work! July 27 was Molly Jolly's wedding, which was a lot of fun! The location was beautiful and Molly is so creative :)
Dad overdosed on Sunday before Mom went home. CeCe gave him some pills. They found him unconscious. A week and a half later, he's still in the hospital, but almost back to normal. He isn't tracking quite right- struggle a lot to find the right words. He attempted to go to the bathroom by himself at the hospital, fell, and cracked his skull on the toilet. I'll be glad to have all of that over with.
Heading back to Ankeny this weekend to see Katy, Stina, Nelline, Jon, Dick... a whole lot of friends <3 It'll be a nice wrap-up to summer!
