I'm in america!
I'm currently in the library in Farmington, Connecticut. Spend today wandering round Hartford (captal city) which was rather small and not very exciting except for its inherent americanness. I'm disappointed to see that everthing doesn't look like its in soft focus, as it does on the telly. I thought jet lag wouldn't bother me too much since I often go to bed and get up at odd times but it seems 5 hours is a bit more than my body can comfortably accept so last night I went to bed at 9pm absolutely shattered and got up at 8am reasonably refreshed. I did only have 3 hours sleep the previous night due to the taxi to the airport coming at 6.30am and me not being tired enough to sleep until 3. I expected to sleep on the plane but it was fucking uncomfortable. Then we had a 3 hr drive from JFK to connecticut and then we had to go out for dinner. Lots of travelling - urgh.
I've bought lots of american sweets and I expect the cashier thought me something of a pig.
I've never felt so british in my life. I'm looking forward to getting pissed in New York bars. Going to NY on Thursday.
Better go, brother is making faces at me.
