Not even four days after uttering those words, I have completely caught up on season 13. Including last night's episode.
I know only having seen 5 of the 16 aired episodes is pretty wild, but I'm not sure why catching up was such a feat in my mind. Back in the day, when I first discovered SPN, I was flying through episodes, undaunted by the 10 plus seasons before me. To be fair, I wasn't quite sure where to watch s13, and I've since found a way. But yeah, I was maybe being a little dramatic. XD
Anyway, I forgot how different binging makes reflecting on the episodes. Mainly because there's a lot less of it. I occasionally paused the episode to make a note or take a screen cap, but things blur together more and there's not the same level of scrutiny and rehashing that sitting on an episode for a week makes you do. But here are some favorite things/thoughts/reactions on 13x06 through 13x12:
13x06 "Tombstone"
-Yay for the old west vibe! Though it made me really want to rewatch 6x18, because this is one of my absolute favorite moments:

here -I like Jack. And his picking up of the hunting gig, hee.
-Ahh Dean is really positive in this episode?? It makes sense, with Cas back, and then that happiness getting funneled into excitement over the old west, but its not a Dean we see that often.
-Dean reminding Cas about making him watch Tombstone, aw.
-And immediately jumping on being perceived as Texas Rangers.
-I dug the retro vibe of the undertaker girl.
-I kept forgetting that this was a ghoul. I got to the end of the episode and was like hmm, do we really have proof this was a ghoul? MAYBE this is just a human. The most supernatural moment I remember seeing was the sheriff dude getting dragged into the tunnel, which idk, arguably a human could have done. Then I remembered the whole fact the ghoul is that Dave gunslinger guy from the past. (Maybe it was just a costume.)
13x07 "War of the Worlds"
-Castiel's dramatic exit from the bunker. XD (I was wondering why he didn't just fly out, but 1) bunker warding? and b) he can't teleport anymore, right? cause of the whole losing wings thing? As much as I enjoyed the dramatic swooshing of his trench coat, I do miss his sudden and inappropriately timed popping in and out.)
-I had completely forgotten who Asmodeus is. He looked familiar, but it wasn't until he said his name where I was like 'oh yeah, prince of hell or something.' Oops.
-Also, on the subject, the conversation between Asmodeus and his minion was so much. Why didn't minion guy lead with the news the Winchesters didn't have Jack? That seems a lot less likely to get you fried than showing up and just saying you have no news to report. XP
-Kevinnnn. I miss him. I'm glad we got some of his funny AU self in this scene.
-I wasn't excited to see Lucifer back or trying to get chummy with Castiel, but I did enjoy Cas's snark during the bar scene. And especially:
Cas, any news on Jack? We need to find him fast.
Nothing yet, but interesting things are happening. We --
What?
Yes, I would like to see you soon. The sooner the better.
Smooth like crunchy peanut butter. XD
13x08 "The Scorpian and the Frog"
-The orange jacket! :D It looks so nice. I feel kinda bad for basically giving it a giant back-handed compliment in my last post.
-Ahh I really liked Alice. And her bonding with Dean over that drink with a fantastically ridiculous name. XD
-Dean not wanting to stick his hand in the creepy hole. (I like when the boys balk at doing something or get a little creeped out, cause they are generally so chill about stuff that it's easy to forget how terrifying and dangerous their gig actually is.)
13x09 "The Bad Place"
-I really hope Dean makes Jurassic Park jokes.
(I don't remember this episode very well, and that's literally the only comment I wrote. XP)
13x10 "Wayward Sisters"
-(Alas, no Jurassic Park jokes)
-I really enjoyed this. I did miss Sam and Dean though.
-Claire is getting so professional. And is still young in many ways, but ahh. I like watching her grow up.
-Aw, Claire and Alex with their sibling-like banter in that hospital scene.
13x11 "Breakdown"
-Sam not getting out of bed, ahhhh. And not even hungry for pancakes. (I had pancakes for breakfast this morning and they were amazing. Poor Sam.)
-I loved this episode with all its creepiness and tension. I was late to class because I couldn't stop watching. (Doug had just got turned! Things were intense, man.)
-THE HALLWAY SCENE. Have I ever mentioned that I really love flashlight scenes? <333
-I was a little bothered by how blasé the werewolf guy was being with spilling the beans and getting caught, so I felt a little better when he turned out to be a werewolf. Though he still was severely lacking in self-preservation. (I guess this is why that one guy (I cannot remember anyone's name I'm sorry) said only the not-so-smart monsters get caught.)
-I don't remember Doug, but I liked him. I was glad he survived, though then I was kinda bummed he decided to bail. (Poor Donna.) Maybe we'll see him again and he'll have changed his mind. The hunting life has a way of dragging you in...
13x12 "Various and Sundry Villains"
-I remember for about the entire first season when Rowena was around, I found her really annoying. I'm don't remember why or what's changed, but I've gotten more and more fond of her as time's gone on. And I really liked her in this episode.
-Namely, because of the conversations with Sam.
-Sammmmmm.
