I survived Anime Evolution 2007!
And I didn't even get a stinking t-shirt!
Maybe I should print that up on some kind of postcards or something. Anyways, I'm still a little 'Whooooo!~~~~' from the convention. The con burn-out hasn't really set in yet. I'm sure it'll hit me at some point, and it's going to hit me hard. But right now I'm just kind of in some kind of limbo..Like I know it's over, but I don't feel it yet.
There was an insane amount of things to see and do, but not nearly enough time..At all. All the guests that I got to see were fantastic! The people were awesome and my God...This one's going into the books as one of the most amazing years yet, no matter how poorly organized the scheduling was. I don't know where the lines of communication broke down with the organizers but that didn't seem to stop everyone from having a good time.
I met up with Ace, Sachi, Sheryl and Kadi. I knew Ace and Kadi were going to be there, but I totally didn't except Sachi and Sheryl, so it was awesome to get to see them too. It would have been better if we could have dragged Dawnie down for it, but next year she's just going to have to come, period. Here that woman?!
Side note: I actually managed to stay on budget this year! In fact, I didn't actually spend any money other then a little on food until the last day and I managed to keep 2 bucks for work today! Go me! Whoo!
Em and I took a ton of pictures and some video too, so expect those to be up at some point. And after the con, a bunch of us went for dinner at Boston Pizza. That has to be one of my favorite parts of this year too. I got to sit and talk animation classes and all that stuff with Kada and her friends. All of whom are going into their second year of the animation program at Cap College. And all of whom agreed that I need to get in there..They even told me when the drop in life drawn was going to start up there and demanded that we go.
So Ember and I are going to try going to some of them, and I'm suppose to bring my portfolio. It's good to know people who want to help you get through the door. Who knows..maybe with some luck I could actually get into the 2008 class there. I'm still going to apply to VA, I think..But apparently applications for next year at Cap open up in October, so if I can get some more stuff together in the next 4 weeks, I can actually apply.
And that's about all I can think of right now..I'm sure there's more but my brain's so very far away that it drifts into some kind of magical land with flowers and butterflies and unicorns and magical magic things and yeah...I'm going to stop now.
