Skate for Hope 2011

Second time at Skate for Hope in Columbus!! This is always such an amazing show. Seeing the skating students perform really emphasizes how difficult all the moves are, just WOW!

We spotted Ryan Bradley while waiting for our friend outside Nationwide Center, he was on his phone a long time and our friend showed up. We were able to get pictures with him before he went back in, what a sweetheart!!!

Johnny had been tweeting about his travel issues since Friday so I was worried he wouldn't make it but luckily he did :D He missed the opening number probably not having had time to rehearse because I don't think he made it to Columbus until a few hours prior to the show. He skated Ave Maria and Bad Romance. He did the fastest spin I've ever seen him do at the end of Bad Romance, he looked surprised! Ave Maria was sublime as always, I love that costume A LOT.

Awkward much.....Denney and Coughlin debuted their new team at the show and skated to Mambo No. 5 (erm) and Caitlyn Yankowskas was also there. Love Caitlyn so much...she skated in the opening number and was part of a really cute group number to Single Ladies with Rachael Flatt, Alexe Gilles and Emily Samuelson. The girls were adorable and you could see they were having a lot of fun with the piece. Alexe is gorgeous in person!!! Anyway, I guess John dropped Caydee from an overhead lift during a group pairs number sponsored by JEGS, I didn't see because I was trying to film it but utterly failed. She was okay apparently....

So not much luck with any filming or pics, other than Ryan <3. But I heard the organizer telling someone (Elvis Stojko's agent who was there with his kids, very random) that the show will be on Ice Network soon.

Josh Farris skated and he was amazing!!! Beautiful jumps and I liked what he did with his arms. Ryan skated his Charlie and the Chocolate Factory program which is a lot of fun to see. Rachael skated her East of Eden program but it looked like she was having trouble with it on the small ice. Great to see her Ina Bauers and spread eagles up close like that though :D Rockne Brubaker and MaryBeth Marley skated to Haven't Met You Yet....she looks like a nine-year-old they were good, just she looks like she's nine!

At the end of the show a lot of the skaters came around but we let the little kids go up and get autographs we just waited around for Johnny to come out, but he didn't. At one point Rockne went backstage and brought him out to meet someone and they were holding hands the whole way across the ice. I was hoping Rockne was going to do a throw-jump with him (why does my mind always go there?)

I hate to reveal anything because I was overhearing a conversation, but a skater that was at the show is going to start training with Yuka and Jason, so even more lovely and awesome for Detroit!!!

Finally, I really want to be the awesome person who drives this car...
