Slow progress

My dear doctor hurt himself, so my appt last week was cancelled. Then this am his office called to cancel yet again, for two weeks. In desperation I asked to see one of his colleagues. Once I managed to get her to listen, it went well. Tests ordered, once results back, then referrals to be made.
In this age of open access to medical journals, it's a two edged sword. There are people who can read the info and find reliable info. Then there are the masses who are lost and end up pissing off the docs as there is so much bad info out there as well. So if you go in well informed it's a crap shoot when you try to share what you think is going on with your body, especially if it is doctor who doesn't know you.
I had a few moments of sheer panic when she suggested Botox. The evidence for it is crap. Even if it was somewhat effective, I'd have to sell my house.

Meanwhile all the druggies are making it harder for people with non-cancerous pain syndromes to get basic treatment. My doctor prescribes enough for 2 months, that's a few hundred pills. In fear of losing the bottle, I divide it into smaller quantities. Now I can't find a bottle with the remainder. Doc today graciously Rx me 2 weeks supply, but the whole process was fraught as she tried to decide if I was abusing the meds, or just exhausted, stressed, and in pain.
I'm sure I'll find the others, but I can't function without them. A few weeks ago I found 70 pills in two different bottles that had fallen under the bed!
I had the cleaning lady in on Tuesday. Nice to be able to look around, I've had my "dirty house" filter on for months.

home, rl, cracked pot
