Strangers in the night?

Nov 24, 2013 07:59

I awoke to rustling sounds about 3 am. I turned on the light, a pair of glowing eyes shone back from under the tunnel created by a clumsy pile of books on my bedside table. It was a wee mouse. A bang on the table and it was gone.
Very, very cold here for this time of year, -13C, wind chill, -19, in F, 9 and -4. Brrrrr  Woodstove is battling to make the house warm enough for me to get out of bed. Planning to go to archery today.
Last night I finally put the Christmas cakes together, baked half of them, takes almost 4 hours, so the other half, well protected from the mice (must get poison), will be baked tonight. Then fed a regular diet of brandy.
Christmas dinner to be at my home this year. Must get living/dining room sorted, pics on wall, new curtains up, maybe a few throw pillows.
