Laughs, because whining isn't going to make it better soon. TLDR version: ENT very good, but there is nothing for them to fix in my sinuses. Latest CT shows considerable improvement, almost clear. So surgery would probably not make a difference.
So back to square one. Appt with GP end of January to review options.
My situation is/was complicated. First, I am a migraineur, have been since age 9. Also suffer from chronic sinusitis. In April, I fell and hit my head HARD on a street. Broke my front tooth, concussed, but no loss of consciousness. Then they found the infected sinus.
My reading suggests that I'm dealing with
Post Concussion Syndrome. I had thought this before the results of my CT scan showed a serious infection in my sphenoid sinus, which has similar symptoms. After a few weeks of antibiotics, the pain was much reduced. However, it hasn't completely gone, nor have the other symptoms; constant headache, fatigue, nausea, dizziness, tinnitus, trouble sleeping, poor concentration and memory problems. I expect I will have to see more specialist and have some more tests done. There doesn't seem to be a magic bullet that will fix this. Mostly rest, which is problematic as I've cut back on work since the end of June and that hasn't been enough. Don't know how I can afford to take more time off.
Took off today due to major headache. Nasty migraine Sunday, struggled through work due to no other nurses to cover a lot of very sick people. Bad driving conditions made it even more stressful. Still wiped after spending the day in bed. Might bookoff Tuesday as well. We will see.
