My gift to my nephew, Stevie Ray, is a Kobo E-reader. It is not on his Wish list, which included game called Modern War, a bean bag chair, headphones and a pile of Lego. However, he does love to read and this way he can carry books to read on the bus when he commutes to school each day. An E-reader is not something thieves will target the same way as an ipod or laptop. One hopes.
To have fun with the giving of this, I decided to make a book safe. Took an old dictionary and cut it up. Lots of tutorials on the web. GIYF
Here is what it looks like. I've pre-loaded a few books he wanted.
More pics - creative wrapping.
I made some dictionary paper to wrap it by gluing the cut out pages randomly on a sheet of ugly wrapping paper that I've been too cheap/green to toss.
And here it is all wrapped up. Because he is a cheeky little fella, I have wrapped it in another layer of the clear gift wrap stuff, then topped it off with some braided cord. Lotsa tape too.
