Good day today. Sold 7 tickets for feast. Two were due to my having put a sign in my car - Medieval Feast- as I drive all over, it struck me the other day that it wouldn't hurt.
Moved into Zen mode re feast attendance at some point today. I've done all I can to promote it, press coverage, signs, word of mouth. There are about 60 odd tickets sold. I have been told that most people wait til last moment. If that is the case, then there is room, both in the hall and the food I have bought. to seat 88 and feed volunteers. My plan is based on 80 paid, plus volunteers who get a free meal. Most of the funds raised will be from the Loonie/Chinese auction and raffle.
Will be calling the pharmacy in the am to order my Rx migraine drugs. Hurricanes and my head don't get on well. Surprisingly, a storm that large 2,000 miles away can cause severe migraines.
Worried about one patient. I met him two years ago. Went to his house, he opened the door- barefoot. The toes of both feet were black, no pulses found. He went to a doctor's appointment after I saw him that day. I later heard that he had one leg amputated that week. Somehow they saved one. However, it doesn't look good for that leg now. Such a pleasant man and he is being very bluff and laughing, but I'm sure he is freaking out. Still sad about the loss of his wife 4 years ago.
Grateful for the Society for Creative Anachronism, for giving me an outlet to use my energies and learn new things. My sewing is getting much better, feel very accomplished with the few things I have on the go. Because of my involvement in the SCA, I am able to put together this feast. Very grateful for the good gentles who have offered their talents and are coming at their own cost to entertain at the feast. I bought some new pillows for downstairs, also some breakfast foods, bacon, fruit, eggs, bread etc in case they want to just laze around in the am.
