A Little Overdue . . .

Hey Kids,

I have updated this thing in a while, and I'm bored, so I figured I would go ahead and do that. I am home, on the Outer Banks. I got home last Wednesday after a looooong car ride, stops in Atlanta and Jacksonville, The Wedding Date on Pay-Per-View (I actually liked it, how cheesy is that?), some other Pay-Per-View fun, lots of junk food (all of which I gave to AJ when we arrived in Jacksonville), and buying a new cat carrier since I somehow lost/someone stole my other one. Huh. Anyhoo, Stewey and I are home, and he has taken to following me from room to room, and then perching on top of the tallest thing in the room so he can look down on everything around him. I'm my room, it's the dresser; in the living room, it's the bar. I haven't really done much since I got home; I whittled my Circle K "To-Do" List from 17 to 5 things, so that is exciting. I have emailed roughly 100 people in the last 6 days. I have yet to unpack, hopefully I will be motivated to do that soon. The main reason I haven't been motivated to do anything is because I have no idea what's happening with work yet. I was supposed to work at the law firm where I worked the last two summers, but they're kind of dragging their feet and it's making me feel really unwanted. Not that that's hard to do. The problem is that I need so many days off this summer for traveling different places, so it would be hard to get a job anywhere where they didn't already believe I was a good worker. I guess that will work itself out. Since I've been home I've also become addicted to The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books. I read the first one laying out by the pool on Saturday, and mistakenly picked up the last one last night when I was about to go to sleep around midnight. Needless to say, I couldn't put it down and ended up finishing it at 4 am. And then got up at 9. Ech. Oh well. Y'all should read them if you get a chance; they're really good, cute books, but not as light as you would think.

Yesterday, one of my friends from high school called me and wanted to get together, so we went to the best Mexican restaurant on the beach, La Fogata. I love it. They have the best cheese dip in the entire world, and the best chicken quesadillas. Yummmm. Then we drove about an hour North, up to Corolla (because we just wanted to talk and neither of us had been there in a long time), and talked. Well, mostly she talked. But that was ok. Turns out her life is much more interesting than mine. Sometimes I wonder if I'm missing out on life. Do you ever wonder that?

Anyway, after that, we went to see Monster-in-Law at the movie theatre. It was decent. J-Lo still annoys the shit out of my, but Michael Vartan is fucking gorgeous, so they kind of evened each other out. Then we came back to my house and had dinner, then watched Friends for a while until she went home. It's nice to be with someone every once in a while who really acts like they're happy to see you and wants to see you; it's really not that hard to make someone feel appreciated/wanted, but it's easier to make someone feel unwanted. I hope that I never make anyone feel like that.

So that's about all that's happening here. Just my own internal drama--I'll let you know if anything exciting happens. Keep me updated on what's going on in our fair city-I miss you guys, and hope to see you in June when I'm back for a few days. Love to all.
