On the drive home from work today, I realized as summer's wrapping up what a completely complete summer this has been for me. I came home and rekindled old high school friendships that had begun to fade. I had a great summer vacation with my family. I said goodbye to my brother, and was finally able to come to grips with his move westward. I drank. I did Jersey things. I worked, and made friends with my boss and a couple of my fellow workers. I fell in love. I saw changes in my hometown that made me laugh, cry, and reminisce (ie, Lick It and Lucar Hardware are gone forever, the ground leveled, there are actually painted lines on 571 between Clarksville and the Acme, and every letter of the "Trenton Makes The World Takes" sign is actually lit up). I've come to terms with the fact that this is my last summer in the only house I've ever known as a home. I had a kickass fourth of July weekend with my Temple crew. I got to see most of my extended family at my house for celebrations... a much needed change from some of the sadtimes that have brought us together in recent years.
I learned, lived, and loved this summer, I guess I can't ask for much more than that.
Now I can't wait to get back into the Temple groove!!
